WOW Toys Countdown Calendar Competition

You may have spotted a nice new shiny badge on my sidebar this week letting you all know that I am now a WOW Blogger Buddy. We have recently been browsing toys shops and online for some new toys for little J because he has a sudden interest in figures and playsets and WOW was one of the brands we were looking at. I was so happy to receive an email to say that WOW toys would us to check out their new Countdown Calendars and also give one away to my readers.

I'm sure most of you will know WOW Toys and will agree that they are perfect for little ones. The toys are so colourful, cheery, chunky and they don't need batteries. I was quite excited to hear more about the WOW Toys Countdown Calendar. I instantly thought about Advent calendars and how exciting it is for little ones to open them each morning, counting down the days till Christmas.

They are a brand new toy concept developed following on from focus groups held with parents.  A theme that kept coming up was to produce some sort of a toy or chart that helps children prepare for a big day that is approaching in their young lives. As young children often find the passage of time difficult to comprehend (we know Advents for instance really help with this), parents talked about wanting to help build excitement and gently to steer them towards a forthcoming event such as preparing a child to starting either in a day nursery or reception or going away on a much anticipated holiday or trip.

The calendars can be personalised and each numbered calendar window contains a surprise toy that can be played with from the first day.  When collected over 10 days the toys create a themed play-set that can be played with long after their special day has passed.

We received a Holiday Countdown Calendar and A Special Day Countdown Calendar. Both Calendars are designed for ages 1-5 and each contain 10 toys. I thought the Special Day would be perfect for Little J to countdown to Fathers Day. Each Day we will open the calendar to reveal a toy for him to play with and once all the days are open we will have a playset.

The Holiday Countdown Calendar will obviously be perfect for counting down the days to our Summer Holiday. Each toy inside the 10 windows to be opened contain a bath toy. I can't wait for him to open these up because he loves bath toys and is in desperate need of some new ones.

I absolute love this idea and I think most of you will too. Its such a lovely way for the children to pass time and also prepare.

Make sure you keep an eye on my blog and social media for what we thought of the calendars as we open them each day.
