Snow White Disneybound Outfit

Snow white and the prince at Disneyland Paris
I have started writing down some Disneybound ideas for our visit to Walt Disney World this year and first on my list is Snow White. For those that don't know what Disneybounding is, let me explain. As an adult you are not allowed to wear any Disney costumes whilst visiting the parks so the  idea behind Disneybounding is you choose 'normal' clothes that are the same colours as your favourite characters. You are then able to dress up as a character of your choice without wearing a costume.

When you think of Snow White what colours do you see? Most say red and yellow when actually Snow wears a blue top and yellow skirt. The colour red is only on the bow/headband and the belt around her waist.

Here are a few ideas for the perfect Snow White Disneybound.

red hairband
The red headband with bow is the perfect start to a Snow White Disneybound. I think above everything else she wears this is what everyone remembers.
blue top
Finding the perfect colour blue was hard but I love this from Simply Be. The Colbalt Blue Top has strap detail at the front, is the perfect colour and I love the length. It will allow you to tuck in to the skirt and add a nice red belt too.
yellow skirt
The Junarose Pleated Velvet Skirt is the perfect choice for a Snow White Disneybound. I absolutely love the detail on this skirt. It's elasticated waist too so will sit nicely on your hips. It's mid length so would be ideal for all visits to Disney whatever the season.
Finishing off with a pair of red flats. When visiting Disney its important to wear comfortable shoes and in my opinion flats are a must. I love how these also have a red bow on the front too.

To finish I would probably add a red belt. If you are heading to Disney in the Winter Season you could always add white gloves too.

Have you ever visited Disney and created a Disneybound outfit? I am really looking forward to sharing some more of my Disneybound ideas with you soon.

Fun On The Ice

I mentioned recently that whilst we were in Disneyland Paris the ice rink was not open which was very disappointing for both Daddy and big J. They love ice skating and were keen to have a go whilst we were there. They were both pleased though when I told them that there was an ice skating rink at Selfridges, intu Trafford Centre and we had been invited to pop along for a family skate. We booked in the same day we were going to see Father Christmas at The Snowman and The Snowdog grotto so it was a nice christmas family day out.
The ice rink is situated in Selfridges Car Park. We arrived before our allocated time so we could get booked in and Daddy and big J could put on their ice skates. I stayed and watched from the side because I had to look after little J plus I haven't been ice skating before. It looks so scary.
Their was a member of staff brushing all the ice from the rink towards the sides and everyone had to wait until he had finished.

Daddy and big J put on their boots and were ready to go.
Big J fell a few times but he kept on going and towards the end he was a lot better than at the beginning.

There were skate aids which were available for those that wanted them. They were a seal design and you could either push them or sit on them and get someone to push you.

I was going to get one for big J just so he could get his balance and used to the ice but they had all gone so I would advise getting there early to ensure you get one, if needed.

There is plenty of room for spectators and there is a also a place to grab a coffee to keep warm.

Although it was quite busy the rink was big enough for everyone to have lots of space to skate round. Big J really enjoyed it and I would definitely return next year.

*we were invited to the selfridges ice rink in return for a honest review, all thoughts above are our own*

Disney Tsum Tsums Vinyl Stack Pack Review

As a family we are huge Disney fans, we love to collect all things Disney. I mentioned in a previous post that the last time we were in Disneyland Paris, Disney Tsum Tsum plushes were everywhere. In every shop there were huge displays of the little cuties. Back then I had no idea what they were but I couldn't wait to find out.  Shortly after our visit I started to collect the plush versions of the Tsum Tsum characters. If you are new to the world of Tsum Tsum check out my first post here. Tsum Tsum (which means stack stack in Japanese) sit on top of each other. Recently a vinyl version of Tsum Tsum were released and we were so lucky to receive some.

Reasons To Stay In A Villa With The Kids

For people who love to travel these past few years have been a nightmare as due to the restrictions we have not been able to travel as much. We were hoping to maybe get away on a two week Summer holiday this year however that didn't happen although we did enjoy 4 nights in Disneyland Paris instead.  I have been thinking about next year and trying to get some ideas for where and when we would like to get away. As there is still a lot of uncertainty in the world I have been swaying more towards a villa holiday rather than a hotel or apartments and have jotted down a few ideas for planning a villa holiday with the kids. One of our favourite places we have ever visited is Cyprus. We stayed in a holiday village in Cyprus and it was a lovely country to visit. It was very clean, lots to explore and the locals were so friendly. I've been looking at a private villa in Cyprus in a similar area to where we stayed and it looks like an option for us next year.

Why We Want To Stay At A Villa With The Kids

It's A Home From Home
A villa has all the facilities you need when travelling with younger children. We don't travel light, and last time we went abroad we took so many clothes to last us the fortnight. Having a washing machine in the villa means we can take half the amount and just wash while we are there. Having a fridge too is a must especially keeping the drinks cold throughout the day.

No Distractions
We have been on many holidays over the years where the entertainment staff have literally dragged us off our sun loungers to join in with the daytime activities. I love daytime entertainment but sometimes you just want to chill out and not be pestered by reps to join in with activities happening around the pool or grounds.

No Kids Clubs.
Little J has never shown any interest in attending kids clubs. He would rather play in the pool and spend time with his older brother.

No Restrictions.
The last few times we have been abroad on holiday we stayed have stayed in an all inclusive resort. This always sounds like a great idea for us especially when it come to being able to get drinks, snacks and ice cream whenever we want however it becomes very restrictive at meal times. We  have felt that we couldn't venture too far as we would miss lunch or dinner time. Also it meant we didn't visit local restaurants either.

Chill time.
We all love our chill time. Whether it's reading, watching some TV, playing games on iPads or just watching the world go by. It will be nice to have some chill time of an evening on our own private balcony.

Free Wifi
Even though we are on holiday, free wifi is a must. I like to stay connected to the outside world and the boys would be lost with their daily dose of you tube or games on their devices.

Full UK TV, Sky Channels and DVD/CD Player
We are not ones for staying out late drinking and partying. After a lovely day by the pool or exploring the resort I can't think of anything better than a DVD and a cup of tea.

Private Pool
The boys love the water and knowing we would have our own private pool is a definite plus for us. There is nothing worse than having to get up every day at dawn to place your towels on the sun loungers so you can enjoy a day by the pool.

We have always found choosing a holiday really hard. In fact it takes us weeks and weeks just to decide on where to go then another few weeks looking at accommodation. Although after thinking about it we are almost certain a villa is for us next year.

Its a small world ride at Disneyland Paris
Educating your children about different cultures is an ideal way to help them learn to respect and celebrate diversity. It will also give them a deeper understanding of the traditions and customs their classmates may follow. This kind of knowledge about various cultures will benefit your child throughout their lifetime. Here are some great tips from Oaks International School on how you can explore other cultures with your child.

Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.3 Review

I cannot explain the mixed emotions I felt last week as we headed to the cinema to watch Marvel's Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.3. We are huge Marvel fans, have watched all the Marvel movies and have loved the previous Guardians movies and although I was very excited to see the latest instalment I was also sad that this is the last movie featuring our favourite intergalactic heroes all together.

guardians of the galaxy sign
All that I knew about the movie was that this was to be the final movie as the writer James Gunn has since left the MCU and jumped over to DC where he will continue making superhero movies but for a different franchise. I have stayed away from watching the extended trailers and skipped past recent reviews as Marvel movies are like marmite, you either love them or you hate them. Whilst I love all the Marvel movies I can see why some people take to the internet to say how cheesy, stupid and unrealistic they can be. To be honest thats what I love about them.

The storyline is based around Peter as he is still reeling from the loss of Gamora, but he must rally his team to defend the universe and protect one of their own. If the mission is not completely successful, it could possibly lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them. James Gunn also hinted last year that this volume would also look at the back story of Rocket.

So What Did We Think? (without spoilers)
We were always going to love it. It could have been the worse film ever and we would still come out with a smile on our face. Luckily it wasn't the worse film ever in fact it was pretty amazing. It had a proper storyline and purpose which sometimes I think Marvel movies especially the stand alone movies can really lack. If you're a Guardians fan then you won't be disappointed and if you're not a Guardians fan go see it anyway as I think you may get a surprise.

The movie did hint that this would be the last of the Guardians as we know them which did bring tears to my eyes however the show must go on and with newer and younger Marvel characters popping up such as Kate Bishop, Spiderman, Ms Marvel to name a few I am looking forward to seeing where Marvel takes these characters although my heart will always be with the originals.

Our Goals For 2022

Happy New Year! I like to start every new year with a fresh and positive outlook and 2022 will be no different. I know there is lots of uncertainty still in the air (almost two years on...) but we just have to make the most out of the situation and try our best to stay positive and that's what I am planning to do this year. I'm going to focus on all the things we can do rather than the things we can't. Every year I make the same resolutions as the year before, eat healthier, exercise more etc etc but this year whilst those resolutions will be in the back of my mind I am going to focus on small achievable  (hopefully) goals for us to accomplish this year.

man and boy in a maze

1. Explore The UK
I've had it in my head for some time now that I would love to visit some of the top UK landmarks. I think when I last checked there were over 60 so I think that might be a bit too ambitious but I would love to visit maybe half of them before the year is through.

As a family I think we are very adventurous but we always visit the same places when we head for weekends away or days out. I really want to try and step out of our comfort zone and explore more of the UK because it is beautiful.

2. Enjoy Screen Free Time
We spend a lot of time on our screens and although I know it will be impossible to cut out screen time all together I would love to limit the time we spend looking at devices. I know I am not the only one who can waste a lot of time scrolling through social media randomly clicking on useless articles and photos. I could have been doing something more productive with that time and that's my aim for 2022. Limit the screen time and enjoy doing other things that doesn't involve a device.

3. Walk 365 Miles At Home
During lockdown whilst doing PE with Joe I also found Walk At Home on You Tube. There are lots of videos from Leslie Sansone where you walk at home. Each video is broken down in to very simple steps to help you walk miles from the comfort of your own home. I absolutely loved doing the videos and was walking up to 3 miles a day. Life then got in the way as things got back to normal and I stopped doing the videos. I want to start up my walking again and my goal is to walk at least 1 mile per day.

4. Say Yes
One of my goals for 2021 was to say yes more and I am going to continue in 2022. It's so easy to say no to a drink after work with colleagues, a meal out with friends or a late night trip to the cinema. I felt like I was always saying no for various reasons when in fact I was just being lazy. I think because we had spent so much time at home in our own bubble I found it a huge effort. I smashed this goal in 2021 and I know I will in 2022 too.

view of a plane's wing from the window

5. Leave The Country
Our Disneyland Paris trip was postponed last year so we are rebooked for Summer. That is the only overseas travel we have planned so far and I really really hope we get to go. If travel is up and running again in the Summer months I would love to go away for a much needed two week beach holiday but it won't be something we book till nearer the time.

6. Plan A 21st
Big J will be 21 next year and I am really hoping we can make it as special as possible seeing as he spent his 18th in Lockdown. He's not really a party, centre of attention type of person so I'm thinking it may be a breakaway with us and maybe one with his friends. He loves America so I would love to take him over to the USA to watch a basketball game and no doubt lots of shopping!

7. Continue To Be Happy and Healthy
The past two years have been so worrying watching so many people get really ill and some die. It's also affected a lot of peoples mental health and jobs. I really hope we can continue to be healthy as well as happy throughout this year and be able to deal with whatever 2022 throws at us.

5 Essentials To Pack For A Disney Holiday

Disclosure - This is a collaborative post. All thoughts for this post, photos and opinions are my own.

When it comes to packing for a Disney holiday your essentials may be suitable footwear, clothes, suncream, passports and money however my packing essential list is completely different. When I pack for Disney there are five essential items I must take on a Disney holiday.

woman wearing a disney loungefly bag

Loungefly Bag
Whenever you go into a Disney park you are most certainly going to spot a Loungefly. If you don't know what a Loungefly is then it is a brand of backpacks, cross body bags, wallets and wristlets. Loungefly have collaborated with brands including Disney, Harry Potter and other TV and Film favourites.

Over the years I have collected lots of Disney Loungefly bags so it actually makes it harder for me to choose just a few to take on each Disney holiday. I will usually try and choose few bags each trip and select clothes to match the bag.

Loungefly bags are a must have for any Disney fans and if you don’t have any with you’ll be sure to pick up one or two whilst at the parks.

Disney Ears
Disney Ears are also an essential for me. Whenever we go to Disney I’m sure to be wearing a pair of ears throughout our trip. There are so many ears to choose from either from Shop Disney or you can visit Etsy or Instagram sellers who can make you custom-made ears which are usually at a cheaper price than those in the parks or shops.

Wearing ears in Disney really makes you feel part of the magic and they’re not just for grown-ups, you can also get them for little ones.

woman standing under a captain marvel statue

Disney Clothing
I personally don’t need to be in a Disney park to wear Disney clothing, most of my wardrobe is Disney branded however it is nice to wear T-shirts or Disney branded clothes when you're in a Disney park. There are so many shops that offer Disney branded clothes that are easily accessible including your local supermarkets such as Asda, Sainsburys and Tesco. Whenever I’m doing my weekly shop I will always head to the clothing section to check out what Disney clothes they have in store that week.

If it's your first trip to a Disney park or a big family holiday you may have seen families wearing personalised T-shirts and personalised hoodies to mark this occasion.

I have also Disney bounded in the past and if you are unfamiliar with Disney bounding it is choosing and wearing an outfit in the colours of one of your favourite characters. For example if Snow White is your favourite character you will want to wear blue, yellow and red outfit. Disney bounding is great for those who want to dress up, as the Disney parks do not allow adults to dress up in Disney dress up costumes so Disney bounding is the next best thing.

Disney Pins
Disney pin trading has been very popular even since big J was little. Collecting Disney pins can be a big part of your Disney holiday experience. There are many ways to collect pins. You can go to the stores and buy them, take pins that you already have or you can approach cast members wearing pin lanyards to trade.

Pin trading is such a fun thing to do and it’s nice to find out the history of some of the pins, as when you trade the cast members will always tell you when and where they got the pin.

Autograph book
Having an autograph book when you’re in Disney is a must have essential. Over the years we have waited until we’ve got into the parks to buy an autograph book but what we have found is that we usually end up rushing to a store to buy one because we have spotted a character close by. To save this stress and chaos it’s so much easier to purchase an autograph book before you go. You can actually buy official autograph books on Shop Disney however there are other places that you can get Disney branded autograph books too. I would also recommend taking a pen with you as it’s been known for Disney pens to run out quite quickly and you don’t want to get stuck without a pen whilst a character is trying to sign your autograph book.

What are your packing essentials for a Disney holiday? Leave us a comment below and let us know what you are looking forward to. Also if you are looking for more posts about Disney holidays you can check them out visiting our All Things Disney page.

What Would You Choose? #ImpossibleExperiences

If you could do anything or go anywhere in the world what would you choose? For me it would be a family holiday to Disney World in Florida. I've dreamt about going there all my life but what if I could do something even better. What if I could create #ImpossibleExperiences. Have you ever thought "I wish I could do that?' or "If I won the lottery I would...". We have all had those thoughts at some point but what would your impossible experience be?

Having never been on a Disney Cruise before or any cruise to be precise I will make sure that I gather as much information, tips and anything else that will help us make the most of our stay on board.  The Disney Magic At Sea Staycation Cruise has lots to offer and this is what I have learnt so far and I will keep updating as I learn more.
