Charlie Bigham's Meals Review

It's always nice to find out about brands that you haven't heard of before so when we received some vouchers to exchange for a few Charlie Bigham's meals we were very excited. We headed to Tesco that morning and found the meals in the fridge section. We have never seen them before but if I am being honest they look very posh and we have probably just walked past them. There was a small choice in our local Tesco but we decided that we would try the Chicken Tikka Masala and Lasagne.

The packaging is really lovely and the meals we chose were designed for two.

Daddy and I couldn't wait to tuck in that night to our Saturday Night Take In and we chose to try out the Tikka. I hadn't read the cooking instructions on the packaging and assumed it was microwave but the meals are oven cook which is so much better. Don't get me wrong I have had microwave ready meals before but as the meals looked so nice and fancy I was so happy that they were oven cook only.

The Tikka Masala came with Pilau Rice and both were cooked in their own wooden trays. There was a piece of foil included in the packaging to place on top of the rice.

The dish took 25 minutes to cook and looked and smelt delicious.

As I said earlier this meal is made for two and their was plenty to go around. We didn't add any sides such as a naan bread as it was quite a big meal.

The meal was really tasty and very filling.

The boys tried out the lasagne a few days later. Again it was a meal for two and to be cooked in the oven. The boys absolutely loved it. I did sample it before I gave it to them for dinner and it was delicious.

What We Loved

The packaging - obviously the first thing you see. Quality packaging with a great design.

The oven proof wooden dishes and the tin foil included - made cooking so much easier.

Meals are designed for two

Very tasty and very filling.

What Could Improve

Nothing, we loved the meals however I wish our local Tesco stocked more choice.

  5. I've never heard of this range but they sound brilliant! I'm a big fan of cooking meals in the oven, even if there is a microwave option I find they taste so much better when oven cooked. I'm a huge tikka masala (or any curry tbh) fan so I will be hunting this out! X
