Messi Kids Menu At Hard Rock Cafe

Disclosure - We were invited to Hard Rock Cafe to sample the Messi Kids Menu. All thoughts, opinions and photographs are our own.

We love going out for food as a family and whilst we have a few favourite restaurants we are always keen to try new restaurants especially if they have a special offer or a a new menu to try. Last weekend we headed to Manchester's Hard Rock Cafe for the first time so little J could sample the Messi Kids Menu. As we have never been to a Hard Rock Cafe before we didn't know what to expect but little J was beyond excited as soon as we mentioned the chance to sample a Messi burger.

Messi Kids Menu

Taste greatness with the NEW Messi Kids menu featuring the Messi X Burger and the Messi Golden Chicken Sandwich along with a complimentary mini golden football toy, a collectable poster & activity sheet with every meal!

The menu has so much choice available for kids and is designed for those 12 and under. The Messi Kids menu was separate to the main menu and gave little J the chance to browse the menu and pick his meal. There are 9 meals for children to choose from  not including plant based options. There is so much variety so even the fussiest of eaters should find something they like.

messi kids menu

The main two options are

Messi’s X Burger
A burger topped with white cheddar cheese, garlic aioli and served with seasoned fries.

Messi’s Golden Chicken Sandwich
A crispy chicken fillet, topped with marinara, mozzarella cheese, garlic aioli and served with seasoned fries.

Both looked amazing but if you don't fancy either of them you can head to the Headliners or Remix options.

Headliners
Bacon Cheeseburger
Hot Dog
Chicken Tenders
Mac & Cheese

Remix
Chicken Breast
Grilled chicken breast served with vegetables

Twisted ‘N Tasty Cavatappi Pasta
Twisted cavatappi pasta topped with marinara sauce and served with vegetables

Grilled Chicken House Salad
Mixed fresh greens with diced chicken, Monterey Jack and cheddar cheeses

leo messi burger

Little J went for a Messi's Golden Chicken sandwich with fries and he was not disappointed. It was presented really well with a Messi flag stuck in the top of the burger and it looked delicious.

The portion size was perfect for little J (he is 10) with just enough fries. If you would prefer another side other than fries you can choose fresh fruit, mashed potato or veggies.

The meal comes with a choice of soft drink and also the option to buy an 'Encore' of a hot fudge sundae for £1.75. You can also upgrade from a soft drink to milkshake also for £1.75.

boy completing an activity sheet

If that's not enough the menu also doubles as an activity sheet for the kids to complete while they wait and then opens in to a poster plus they can collect a mini football on the way out which was the best thing ever according to little J.

The Messi Kids Menu is currently priced at £11.75 which includes meal, drink, activity sheet, poster and mini football.

I think the collaboration between Hard Rock Cafe and Leo Messi is perfect for little ones who love football, Leo Messi or just great tasting food.

As I said earlier we have never dined at a Hard Rock Cafe but I feel now that we really have missed out. Our closest is Manchester which opened in 2000 however Hard Rock Cafe's have been preparing world-famous legendary burgers, smokehouse specialities, flavourful Salads and mouth-watering desserts for a lot longer and they are all over the world.

memorabilia in hard rock cafe

I usually get a feeling when entering a new restaurant and when we arrived we were all really impressed with the layout and the ambience. There was a lovely vibe and as it is open plan over 3 floors it's lovely and bright. What we didn't expect was the memorabilia. The memorabilia is displayed on the walls and there is so much to see. We could have spent all afternoon looking at all the different pieces.

Although this was our first visit it definitely won't be our last. I would be keen to try out their holiday menu and also they have a lovely event of Breakfast with Santa too however I think little J wants to head back so he can try the Messi X Burger next.

Have you visited a Hard Rock Cafe before?

Halloween Lakeside Light Trail Review

Disclosure - We were invited to enjoy the trail for the purpose of this post. All thoughts, opinions and photographs are our own.

Last week we visited our very first Halloween Light Trail. We have done lots of light trails over the years around Christmas time but we have never done a spooky one before. We were all really excited as we do like a light trail, we had no idea what to expect we just knew to wrap up warm and prepared for a spooky walk.

Supporting A Child's Emotional Literacy With Mighty Cards

Disclosure - I have previously collaborated with Mighty Cards. This post was last updated October 2023

We are now heading in to the final year of primary school and whilst little J is showing no signs of anxiety or nervousness, I know this year will be tough on him for many reasons. Firstly the last year of primary means the end to everything he has known for the past 7 years. He will be split up from his friends as they head to different secondary schools, preparing and revising for KS2 SATS will also be a tough time as no one likes exams. Supporting a child's emotional literacy is very important and I am going to try everything I can to keep him as calm and stress free as possible.

Mighty Cards

When we were recently sent a set of Mighty Cards, I knew that these may be what I had been looking for. The cards which are designed for ages 4-11, provide effective and engaging strategies to help children manage their feelings and emotions. The pack consists of 36 cards which are divided in to 3 types of activities.

There are a wide range of emotions that we experience every day including happy, sad, excited, worried, embarrassed and anxious. Sometimes these may be difficult to deal with so having some simple strategies to follow can really help deal with those tricky feelings.

The cards are really simple to use and understand, and for us we have been taking the time to choose a card just before dinner to help us enjoy our evening a little better and then before bed to help us feel rested and content.

Mighty Cards

Breathe

Breathing strategies to calm your body and focus on your mind.

A sample of a Breathe Card is Finger Breathing.

Use a finger from your right hand to gently trace up and down the fingers on your left hand.

Each time you trace up a finger, take a slow deep breath in through your nose. Each time you trace down a finger, slowly release your breath through your mouth.

Once you have traced the fingers on one hand, swap hands and repeat.

Mighty Cards

Move

Physical exercises to help relieve tension in your body.

A sample of a Move Card is Wall Push.

Stand in front of a wall and place your arms out in front of you so your hands are touching the wall.

When you are ready, try with all your strength to push the wall over. Count for 10 seconds, pushing hard. Then shake your arms and legs gently to release the tension in your body.

Repeat 3 times.

Mighty Cards

Create

Creative activities to build a sense of calm and control.

A sample of a Create Card is Calm Poster.

Write the word CALM on paper in big writing. Colour and decorate the page using your favourite colours and stickers.

As you are colouring and decorating, imagine that you are filling yourself with calmness and joy.

Place your CALM poster somewhere where you can see it often.

How you use the cards is down to your own personal choice however even though they are designed with children in mind we have all been using the cards and after just a few days we have already felt the benefit.

Disclosure - We were invited to The Crown Jewels in return for this post. All thoughts and opinions are own. This post contains affiliate links.

When it comes to visiting the theatre my views and preference of shows has definitely changed. I would always book to see the big productions such as Wicked, Phantom of the Opera, Grease. I think because I loved musicals so much these where the obvious choices. However I am really enjoying all type of theatre at the moment and I have really been looking forward to the new play The Crown Jewels.

Annie The Musical Review

The 2023 UK Tour Has Come To An End - Check Back For Tour Updates

I have always loved musicals ever since I was a little girl. I grew up watching musicals such as Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Calamity Jane and The King and I. However one of my favourite was Annie. I watched it several times a week and would practice the dance routines in our living room. I must have drove my parents mad. A few years ago I went to the theatre to watch Annie the Musical. I was blown away. Everything about the show was fantastic from start to finish so when we got the chance to see the show again we jumped at the chance.

Game Over Escape Room - Squid Game Review

Disclosure - We were invited along to Game Over to try out the Squid Game Escape Room. All thoughts and opinions are our own.

If you are a regular reader you know we absolutely love Escape Rooms. We have quite a few Escape Rooms in Liverpool all offering a great experience and perfect for visiting as a family, with friends or as a couple. Up until recently it's always been a thing John and I did together, however little J is now very keen to take part and has been joining in with us. Even as a three we still have a 100% escape record and we were hoping that would continue when we tried a new venue Game Over

What To Expect At Flip Out Liverpool

As we can't always rely on the weather we always try to head to an indoor play area when it's raining as little J always has energy to burn. We find a few hours is just enough to let him run, bounce, play and explore. He definitely has his favourite indoor play areas however he is always keen to try new play areas that pop up. We are already a fan of Flip Out Aintree so was looking forward to visiting its new indoor play area Flip Out Liverpool.

Walk Amongst The Monkeys At Monkey Forest, Trentham

Even though we live in the North West we seem to spend a lot of time round the Midlands and the South. We love traveling and exploring new cities and attractions. This Summer we spent a lot of time in Stoke and Stafford area visiting Alton Towers, Trentham Gardens and the Monkey Forest. We had heard great reviews and it's somewhere we have planned to visit over the years but never got round to it. I'm so glad we managed to fit it in this Summer as it's a great family day out.

What To Expect at Monkey Forest, Trentham Estate, Stone Rd, Tittensor, Stoke-on-Trent ST12 9HR

The forest boasts that it is the only place in the whole of the UK where you can walk amongst 140 Barbary Macaque monkeys. The monkeys live in large groups and we saw this on our visit. They have their own tress and areas and don't seem to cross over to other areas. Within some of the areas there is up to 6 generations co-existing and we were able to see some baby monkeys on our visit.

Can You Really Walk Amongst The Monkeys?

Yes! I was a little sceptical thinking that you really wouldn't be amongst the monkeys but yes you are. Visitors are free to walk amongst the monkeys on the 3/4 of a mile path through the woodlands whilst the monkeys roam free. You are not allowed to touch or feed the monkeys and we found the monkeys did not come that close to us anyway to be within reach.

How Long Does It Take To Walk Around?

The walk took us just under 1 hour and that included watching the monkey feed talk (which I would highly recommend)  and stopping along the way to see the monkeys up close and taking pictures. However you are free to spend as much time as you like within the monkey area and also re-enter as many times as you like during your visit. There are interactive knowledge boards along the woodland path with lots of information and questions about monkeys and staff on hand to answer any questions.

What Else Can We Do?

The Monkey area is just one section of the Monkey Forest. We enjoyed spending time outside of the monkey area too.

Play Areas

There are different play areas. Each play area had its own unique equipment including monkey bars, basket swings, climbing frames and slides.

We spent a lot of time in the play area. There was a woodland area which was great for climbing and swinging. It also had picnic benches to sit at whilst the boys played.

The Banana Cafe

The Banana Cafe serves a selection of both warm and cold meals and snacks for when you’re feeling a bit peckish. Relax on the terrace with an ice cream or cup of coffee. There is plenty of seating available in and around the Banana Cafe with tables and chairs and there is also lots of grass space. There is a menu online and prices where what you would expect from this type of attraction.

We picked some cakes and a hot drink which were delicious.

The Jungle Shop

The Jungle Shop is packed full with monkey memorabilia. We headed straight to monkey themed stationary where we picked up a pencil, rubber and pencil sharpener.

Willow Maze

Designed in the shape of a Barbary Monkey the Willow Maze will keep you and your family entertained as you enter through the mouth and leave through the bum!

This was lots of fun and you can easily see the end from the beginning however we enjoyed it. You can also see through so no chance of getting stuck.

monkey fact board

Can You Take Your Own Food?

Yes you can take your own food however you cannot take it in the monkey enclosure. There are plenty of spots to enjoy a picnic and it is recommended to either leave your picnic in the car until after you have seen the monkeys or eat it beforehand.

We didn't have to pop back the car but if you do you just let the staff know at the entrance and they will stamp your hand which let's them know you are just popping the car.

monkey forest entrance

How Much Is Car Parking?

Car parking is free and there are plenty of spaces with an overflow car park too. There are disabled bays available too closer to the entrance.

How Accessible Is The Monkey Enclosure?

The 3/4 mile path is suitable for wheelchairs and mobilty scooters however there was a small section that had a very steep slope. We saw a wheelchair struggle on this part of the walk, however there was not much to see here anyway.

The path isn't one way however people did tend to walk the same way but it wouldn't be a problem if you have a wheelchair or mobility scooter if you needed to turn around. There are wide paths,

What Are The Opening Times and Prices?

Opening times vary depending on the time of year however it is usually closed from around the beginning of November until February half term.

Ticket prices are cheaper if you buy in advance with adults priced at £10 and children priced at £8. Concessions and over 65's can enter at a reduced rate of £9.50. Carers and under 2's go free.

You can check out the full opening times calendar and price guide visiting Monkey Forest.

monkey forest

What Else Is Local?

There are quite a few local attractions that you could visit on the same day.

Trentham Gardens

Adjacent to the Monkey Forest, Trentham Gardens offers a stunning landscape with beautiful flower displays, lakes, and gardens. Take a leisurely stroll and soak in the tranquility of this picturesque setting.

Trentham Estate

The Trentham Estate boasts a variety of attractions, including a shopping village, outdoor adventure playground, and a lakeside walk. It's the perfect destination for a day of exploration and relaxation.

We loved our day and I can see us heading back there next year as it was a nice relaxed day out. We loved seeing the Monkeys and little J enjoyed the play area too.

Instructed Session At Astbury Water Sports Centre

Disclosure - We were invited along to have an instructed session. Any thoughts, opinions and photographs are our own.

I'd like to say as a family we are quite adventurous and will always give something a go especially if it pushes us out of our comfort zone. I think nowadays we spend far too much in front of a screen whether it's working, gaming, using our phones so I am always aware of getting outside as much as possible. We are lucky that the boys love being outside especially Little J who is always up for an adventure. Whilst most of our adventures are on land this week Little J and John took to the water for an instructed canoeing session at Astbury Water Centre. It was meant to be for all three of us however my sea legs must have stayed at home so I happily watched from the side.

Back To School With Smiggle

Last Updated August '23

Smiggle is our go to place when little J needs new school essentials, stationary, quirky squashies or fidget toys. Little J will be back at school soon after his Summer break. When he returns he will be wearing his new Winter uniform and this is the perfect time to upgrade his lunch box, water bottle and stationary.

Smiggle back to school essentials

We are lucky we have a Smiggle store in town however we also looked online to purchase little J's back to school essentials. The website is really easy to use with labels and categories to make your browsing experience easier. There is usually a sale section too which is perfect to pick up a bargain.

Little J has a packed lunch for school and he prefers the Smiggle Double Decker lunch bag. If you want a bag with lots of space then I would definitely recommend a double decker. The top can be opened using the zip to reveal a shallow compartment. This is ideal for snacks or even an ice pack if needed. The bottom is spacious and could fit a large lunch in and/or a water bottle.

Smiggle Game Over Lunch Bag

Smiggle Game Over Lunch Bag

Little J chose the Gamer double decker lunchbox. The base is designed like a video console controller and has a retro feel to it with the top layer similar to an arcade game.

It's a hand held lunchbox and doesn't come with an over the shoulder strap.

Smiggle Kick water bottle

We go through so many water bottles with little J. He either loses them or breaks them but we have always found the Smiggle bottles last the longest. Little J chose the Kick drink bottle which has a flip top spout and a classic football design.

Both the Gamer and Kick design have other items in their ranges including backpacks and pencil cases.

Dinosaur pencil case

Dinosaur pencil case

There is a huge range of pencil cases available at Smiggle but little J really liked a pencil case that he has already had in the past which he uses at home so wanted the same for his desk in school. It is the Dino Character Pocket Pencil Case. He likes this case as it has two compartments which he uses to separate his felt tips and pencils. It has dinosaur spike detail and a squishy feel which little J loves.

Everything You Need To Know About Estival El Dorado Holiday Resort

When it comes to booking a holiday, we are always very cautious, as holidays are just so expensive. We usually make sure that wherever we go it has either been recommended to us or scores very high on TripAdvisor, even then we still worry that it may not meet our expectations. In the past, we have been lucky to always choose a holiday that has met our needs and we’ve always had a great time. Browsing holidays is always a minefield there is so much choice and as we are a family of three adults and one child finding accommodation is quite tough and in some places, it almost doubled the cost as it added an extra room. After hours of searching, we stumbled across Estival El Dorado on Jet2 Holidays. It looked perfect. There was a choice of a family room which looked big enough for us all, the complex looked stunning and it was reasonably priced compared to others that we’d seen. It seemed too good to be true, however, a quick look at some reviews and I knew instantly that this was something I wanted to book with the overall TripAdvisor rating of 4.5 out of five from nearly 2,000 reviews.

pool at estival el dorado

Estival El Dorado is a Hotel, Sports and Spa holiday resort based close to Cambrils town, Spain. It's extremely quiet but only a short walk or taxi ride from Cambrils and then further on Salou. Estival El Dorado Hotel, Sports and Spa resort is suitable for all the family.

entrance to estival el dorado

Check In
On arrival we were were greeted by a friendly receptionist who spoke very good English. She showed us a map of the resort, including our accommodation block, where we could grab some lunch as it was lunch time and gave us our all inclusive bands. She explained how our all inclusive worked and gave us some general information about the resort.

Rooms are usually ready around 2pm on check in day.

Accommodation
There are two main accommodation buildings located within the complex numbered 1 and 2. We were located in building two, and all the amenities and facilities were no more than a five minute short walk away, including the beach.

Our accommodation was a family room. This consisted of two standard rooms with an interconnecting door in between. The rooms where really spacious, clean and modern up-to-date. If felt like we had booked a Crown Plaza or Hilton as the rooms had that type of feel to it especially in the bathroom with lots of toiletries.

A standard room has two large single beds push together to make a double and there was also a single bed underneath which could be pulled out should it be needed. We had one full hanging wardrobe space plus four large shelves, one which included a large safe.

There was a desk, chair, drawer and another cupboard. There was a separate unit with a drawer, tea and coffee making facilities and a fridge underneath.

The bathroom had separate a toilet, walk in shower and sink. There are no baths in standard rooms.

The balcony was quite spacious with two chairs, a table and a clothes dryer. There are walls either side of the balcony so we were not overlooked at all.

The interconnecting room next door was the exact same, so as you can imagine, this was a really spacious accommodation for three adults and one child

All Inclusive
We chose to book the all-inclusive package as we thought this was better value for money. We’ve been on all-inclusive holidays before and we know that they have restricted times for snacks, ice creams and only serve cheaper local beers and wines but we were happy with that. However, we were pleasantly surprised that the all-inclusive at the Estival El Dorado felt completely different.

Meals are served in the main restaurant.
Breakfast is served between 7:30am and 10:30am
Lunch between 1pm and 3pm
Evening meal between 7:30pm and 10pm

The buffet style meals offered a choice of hot and cold foods at every meal time, salads, meats, fish and a wide variety of gluten free options too. Plenty of choice even for fussy eaters.

The children's section offered pizza, chips, burgers, fish as well as anything from the main buffet.

Desserts where always a hit with a huge choice of cakes, sweets, ice cream and fruit.

Drinks are self service and included tea, coffee, fresh juices, water and soft drinks. Sangria and Estrella beer are on tap and you can just pour yourself. You could choose to have wine also which is brought to your table, or you could pour the local branded wines yourself from a machine.

If however, you did not feel like you wanted to eat in the main restaurant there is a snack bar which is located at the splash park pool. This is open 11am till 8pm every day. It offers a wide range of hot and cold foods, fresh fruit and desserts again. All drinks are self-service including the beer Estrella and sangria. You can also ask for any cocktails or drinks and they will make them for you to you as part of your all-inclusive package. Cocktails included Piña Colada, Mojito and more. You can also enjoy other drinks but they will be charged. However we found they pretty much covered every drink we wanted, even Baileys so didn't need to buy any.

There is also an option to fill cones and tubs of crisps, chips, toasties and pizzas at the snack bar and take them to you sun lounger. You cannot take plates of food you have to use the paper cones and tubs.

Ice cream is available all day, every day. All you need to do is go to main bar or snack bar and you will be presented with a box, full of Walls  branded ice creams such as mini milks, cornettos, feasts and other lolly ices.

There really was no limit to how much food and drink you could consume at Estival El Dorado. I felt we were not given cheaper versions of drinks or ice creams, which we have sometimes received elsewhere. Really thought it was the best choice for us and would definitely recommend it to others considering all inclusive.

Bars
As well as the main restaurant, snack bar and main bar there is also a Sports Bar on site. The Sports Bar shows live sport events or highlights all day. It’s quite spacious inside with a fully stocked bar and again it is included on your all-inclusive.

Pools
There are 3 pool areas at the Estival El Dorado. Each pool has something different and would depend what you are looking for. Firstly all pools open at 10am to around 8pm. There are plenty of sun loungers. There is no panic of a morning to pop your towel on a lounger as there is enough for everyone and no matter what time of day you head to the pool you will get a lounger. Umbrellas are not really needed around the pools as the trees provide natural shade areas which we found really good.

sports pool at estival el dorado

The Sports pool is a large pool including two swimming lanes. It is located by the main reception area. It has a separate baby pool.

As well as sun loungers the Sports pool has day beds situated alongside the edge of the pool, which I would say if you did want a day bed then you would probably have to get there a little earlier than opening. However they seemed pretty pointless to us so we decided a normal sun lounger was ideal for us. The sports pool is around about 1.2 to 1.4m deep.

splash park pool at estival el dorado
splash park pool at estival el dorado

splash park pool at estival el dorado

The Splash Park pool is another large pool and is where we spent most of our time. It includes a lazy river, Jacuzzi bubbles and a Splash Park with slides alongside.

The Splash Park pool is quite deep and ranges from 1.4 to 1.6m, which at times was really difficult as I was unable to stand up and neither could little J. It normally wouldn't be an issue however it is where the Entertainments team do most of the activities such as Water Polo and Water Basket.

Little J and I could not join in with these activities as we couldn’t stand up and it was pretty pointless being involved. It does go shallower along the lazy river which is a nice addition to the pool and was able to give our legs a rest.

The Jacuzzi has plenty of space to sit and it was never overcrowded. The bubbles come on intermittently so you just need to keep an eye out. They are not off for longer than 10 minutes.

splash park at estival el dorado

splash park at estival el dorado

splash park at estival el dorado
Alongside the pool is the Splash Park. Here you will find a shallow pool and a 4 slides. It never felt particularly busy or overcrowded at any time.  Although probably just for kids we did see some adults going down with smaller children. Little J really enjoyed it and said it was lots of fun.

Speaking of fun when you’re on holiday, you would usually bring balls, lilos, bucket and spades to enjoy in the pool, however these are not permitted in the pools at all. To be honest we didn’t miss playing with a ball at all as there was so much to do and I often think lilos take up too much spcae in the pool. If you do decide to take a ball, lilo or rubber ring you’ll be quickly told to remove it by one of the various lifeguards around the pool.

There is a shop on site which will also remind you of this rule. It does sell pool toys but the signs clearly do state if you want to buy them and use them you will have to go to the beach.

The Entertainment Team
There is plenty of entertainment at Estival El Dorado.  Miniclub for younger guests, Maxiclub for slightly older, then adults separately. Daytime entertainment is mainly around the splash pool. However, there are also activities that take place in the clubs for the specific age ranges. Everything is highlighted on boards around the resort so that you don’t miss out on any activities.

We didn't use the kids club facilities but we did join in with quite a few maxi and Adult games. Activities usually start around 10am open till about 12:30 and then there’s a break and they normally come back around about 4pm till 6:30pm.

One thing that I found really bizarre about the entertainment is that mini disco starts at 6:30pm. Whilst I think this is a great time for little ones to enjoy dancing and singing along with the entertainment team, there’s actually no more entertainment on the stage until 10 pm. This means there is a 3 hour wait from when mini disco ends till the evening entertainment begins.

As we don’t have little ones it didn’t really affect us. However I just think that is such a long wait from 7pm till 10pm. We used the time until 10pm to finish off in the pool, chill before dinner then get ready for the evening.

Each night the entertainment team do come out around the stage area at 9 pm to offer little ones the chance to get their face painted to get a balloon.  I found this was quite repetitive as one day you could get your face painted the next you could get a balloon and repeat. There was also only two options of balloon, a sword or a dog.

I really do think the entertainment for little ones was a bit rubbish and there should be more for the children to enjoy, especially after they’ve had their evening meal, and they’re looking to keep busy until the entertainment starts at 10pm.

hawaiian dancers

With regards to the evening entertainment, we saw the usual acts you see on stage when on holiday such as acrobats singers and Hawaiian dancers. The entertainment would usually finish between 11pm and 11:15pm which again is quite late especially for little ones. Having said that as the resort doesn’t really get going until 10am in the morning, there is really no need to be waking up too early.

promenade over looking the sea

boy swimming in the sea
The Beach
The beach is located less than a five minute walk from Estival El Dorado. You can access it through a gate which will put you on the promenade overlooking the sand.

The beach was never overcrowded or busy. We always seemed to get a spot with our towels, and there was plenty of sea for everyone to enjoy.

There is a Nautico Club centre which offers you the choice to hire sun beds, kayaks, paddle boards and more however we didn’t use this facility.

The beach is really clean and there are little coves that you can use to relax and be away from others. However like I said it really isn’t overcrowded at all and it’s very very spacious. There are rocks within swimming distance out in the sea. Great to swim too and see lots of fish.

The Promenade
The promenade again is really clean and really quiet. The nearest town is about a 25 to 30 minute walk away called Cambrils. It is a flat walk along the front to the town where you will find more restaurants, shops and also McDonald’s. It’s also has more of a resort feel to it in Cambrils with street entertainment and a port.

Games Room
There is a small games room located next to the Sports Bar with two pool tables, some small arcade games, and a few grabby type machines. All take one euro coins and the bar area will change notes for you.  This was popular with some children to try and win something, however we really enjoyed the pool. Its 2 euros per game and although theres no queue system and the area isnt supervised everyone was fair in taking turns so that everyone got to play when they wanted to.  Its also cool in the room which gives a break from the heat of the day if you are looking for something different to do.

Minigolf
We had every intention of playing Minigolf while we were at Estival El Dorado however, time got the better of us and we just never seemed to have the time. However, I would recommend it as it is free to play.

The Minigolf isn’t actually on site. It’s a small short walk away from the hotel. However we seen lots of people heading up there so it was a popular choice.

Indoor Spa
Again, this was in a facility that we used as we just didn’t seem to find the time. The spa and wellness centre  is overlooking the splash park pool. There is an indoor pool, spa, Jacuzzi, whirlpool and other spa facilities. It didn’t really seem popular and never seemed overly busy, however, you can book treatments but we just didn’t use this facility.

Anything Else
As I mentioned it earlier, there is a small shop on site which offers a variety of toys, swimming essentials,  beach goodies and a small selection of toiletries. It is open until 8pm daily.

I just wanted to add that it does not sell any snacks or drinks which I found quite strange. However, there is a supermarket just a stone throw away from the hotel main entrance. The  supermarket is only small in comparison to other supermarkets we’ve seen on holiday resorts in the past however it has everything you may need including bakery items, chocolate, crisps, other snacks, ice creams, and a wide range of non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks.

We absolutely loved our first visit to Estival El Dorado. We loved everything about the resort and also the area was so peaceful but close enough to Salou if we wanted to visit restaurants, shops and a different beach.

Estival El Dorado is part of the Estival Group and I am very interested in seeing what other resorts Estival have to offer for next Summer.
