Disclosure - We were invited to enjoy the trail for the purpose of this post. All thoughts, opinions and photographs are our own.
Last week we visited our very first Halloween Light Trail. We have done lots of light trails over the years around Christmas time but we have never done a spooky one before. We were all really excited as we do like a light trail, we had no idea what to expect we just knew to wrap up warm and prepared for a spooky walk.

What To Expect
Welcome to the enchanting world of the Lakeside Halloween Light Trail! As the sun dips below the horizon and the moon casts its gentle glow upon the tranquil waters, a mesmerizing world of Halloween wonder comes to life around the lakes. Imagine strolling along a winding path that hugs the water’s edge, leading you on a magical journey through woodland transformed by eerie and captivating lights.
Shadows of witches on broomsticks, bubbles floating out of cauldrons, and spiders crawling out of trees all lit up by magical lights create an immersive experience that feels like stepping into a living Halloween storybook.

Our Thoughts
Our visit to the Halloween Lakeside Light Trail was a very wet Monday night however we wrapped up warm and put on our wellies ready for our spooky light trail.
On arrival we were directed to the car park which is within a short walk to the entrance of the trail. The entrance has a large seating area with a variety of food and drink vendors. The seating area has a large covering with heaters perfect for a wet or cold evening.
When we arrived it was already dark so we were ready to head to the trail straight away. The trail is located around the lake and is just under 1km long.
Along the trail there was lots of spooky decorations to see. We did enjoy playing a game of ‘who could spot the strangest or spookiest decoration?’ I think a skeleton floating in a pink flamingo rubber ring was probably one of the funniest!!
There are staff members dotted around the trail on hand to answer any questions and take any photographs.
The trail is definitely spooky rather than scary so ideal for all ages. Ideally I would have loved it to be longer as it was lots of fun and time flew by.
The trail is mostly flat however as we went on a wet night it was muddy and a little slippy in places so just bear that in mind especially if in a wheelchair or taking a pushchair.
You can make more of your visit by visiting the teepees and grabbing a bite to eat or a hot drink. We toasted marshmallows. A stick of 3 large marshmallows was £4.50 and we were given chocolate digestives to make s'mores. Lovely treat on a cold night.
We particularly liked the smoke filled bubbles and had lots of fun trying to pop them all.
Overall we really enjoyed our visit to the Halloween Lakeside Light Trail. It has definitely made us ready for Halloween.
