Review | The LEGO Movie 2 - The Second Part LEGO Sets

Disclosure - We were gifted products for the purpose of this review. All thoughts, opinions and photographs are our own.

We are huge fans of LEGO whether its building and creating using our LEGO Bricks, playing one of the many LEGO console games we own, visiting The LEGO Land Discovery Centre or settling down for a LEGO movie night. It's fair to say that LEGO plays a huge part in our lives and like most we cannot wait to see The LEGO Movie 2 - the Second Part that opens up in cinemas this weekend.

The citizens of Bricksburg face a dangerous new threat when LEGO DUPLO invaders from outer space start to wreck everything in their path. The battle to defeat the enemy and restore harmony to the LEGO universe takes Emmet, Lucy, Batman and the rest of their friends to faraway, unexplored worlds that test their courage and creativity.

If we weren't excited enough we received some The LEGO Movie 2 building sets to enjoy. Little J was very excited and couldn't wait to get stuck in. He loves building sets and can follow the instructions easily now. He still needs help with some of the larger sets he owns which is great for John and I because we love building too.

The first set we received is The LEGO Movie 2 Queen Watevra's Build Whatever Box!

The box includes 5 numbered bags alongside 5 numbered books. Each number has instructions and the pieces to build one of 3 different Queen Watevra's.

There are 15 to choose from including a very happy butterfly, an angry hammer, a sad whale, a fierce dinosaur or a happy rocket.

Little J chose bag 3 which contains mainly blue bricks and a sad looking Queen Watevra. He built the violin.

I love the idea of this box because you can build and rebuild one of the 15 different shape shifting Queen Watevra's or use your imagination and build your own.

This set is currently £34.99 and can be bought over on Amazon.

Next up is what we like to call a biggie set. It's huge and looks amazing. Emmet and Lucy's Escape Buggy is designed for those 8+ so John and I get to help out on this one.

This set has 4 numbered bags inside and a 5th bag which contains the Buggy wheels.

Little J was actually really good at finding the right parts and working out from the instructions where to put them.

First of all he made Emmet and Lucy then he made the heart and the star. He also made a catapult which was quite tricky in places but he managed it with very little help.

Next we started on the buggy. We all helped with this part. We are not sure which part we have made yet, we think it's the inside as this is just bag 1.

It will take us a few days to make this as little J doesn't have the concentration yet to sit for a few hours but we will complete one bag at a time and it makes the fun last longer.

Emmet and Lucy's Escape Buggy is currently available on Amazon for £44.99.

If you are a fan of The LEGO Movies and get to see The LEGO Movie 2 this weekend we would love to know what you thought.
