Our Silver 3 Bedroom Caravan Stay at Hafan y Mor

Last Updated Aug 2025

We recently enjoyed a short break at Haven Hafan y Mor and opted for a Silver 3 Bedroom Caravan for our accommodation. We’ve visited Hafan y Mor several times over the years, and this time we decided to pre-book a specific caravan something we haven’t done before. We stayed in 54 Cambrian Way, which turned out to be a great choice for our family of six.

Location - 54 Cambrian Way

One of the reasons we chose to book this specific caravan was its prime location. Situated just over the road from the Dragon Lakes Activity Centre, it meant we were only a short walk away from sports cages which the boys really enjoyed using last time we visited. The central location made it easy to get to the entertainment complex, swimming pool, and food outlets without needing to rely on the car or walk long distances, ideal when you're travelling with children or older adults.

Inside the Silver 3 Bedroom Caravan

The interior of the Silver 3 Bedroom Caravan was bright, clean, and surprisingly spacious. The open-plan layout made it feel roomy even with six of us staying, and the living and dining areas had everything we needed to enjoy evenings together. There was a good-sized TV, a corner sofa (which converted into the sofa bed), and a dining table for family meals.

The kitchen was fully equipped with an oven, hob, fridge-freezer, microwave, toaster, kettle, and plenty of cupboard space, everything you'd need for cooking simple meals during your stay.

Bedroom Layout and Comfort

The caravan had three bedrooms in total.

Master Double Bedroom - This was the most spacious room, with a comfortable double bed, plenty of wardrobe and cupboard space, and a big plus, an ensuite toilet and sink. My mum and dad stayed in this room, and it offered them a little extra privacy and space, which they appreciated.

Two Twin Bedrooms - Both of these rooms featured two single beds and some handy overhead storage shelves, along with a small wardrobe. John and I shared one of the twin rooms during the stay. While single beds aren’t ideal for couples, it was manageable for a short break and we knew what to expect from this type of accommodation. Little J loved staying in the other twin bedroom.

Lounge Area (Sofa Bed) - Big J slept on the pull-out sofa bed in the lounge. It’s worth noting that while the pull-out is suitable for children or teens, it’s not the most comfortable option for adults. That said, we made it work, it’s all part of the holiday experience.

Overall, the bedrooms were clean, warm, and well laid out. There was heating in each room, good lighting, and enough storage for a short break.

Bathroom and Ensuite

In addition to the ensuite in the master bedroom, the caravan had a main family bathroom with a shower, toilet, and sink. It was clean, had good water pressure, and was more than adequate for our group.

Outside Space and Parking

Our Silver caravan came with a spacious private decking area, which was a lovely bonus. The decking included a table and four chairs, perfect for enjoying a morning coffee or just relaxing in the evening sunshine. It gave us extra space to spread out and enjoy the fresh air.

Another big plus was the private parking space, where we were able to comfortably park three cars directly next to the caravan. This is particularly helpful when travelling as a larger group, no need to search for overflow parking or carry bags across the site.

Pre-Booking and Extras

We paid an additional £70 to choose our caravan in advance, giving us peace of mind that we’d be staying in a convenient and familiar spot. We also added a towel bale for £20, which included enough towels for our stay and saved space in our luggage.

Top Tips for Staying in a Silver 3 Bedroom Caravan at Hafan y Mor

  • Book early and pay extra to choose your caravan for the best location
  • Consider a towel bale if you're travelling light
  • Use the decking area to enjoy outdoor meals or evening drinks
  • Be realistic about sleeping arrangements if you’re a large group
  • Take advantage of the private parking right next to your caravan
  • Pack some extra bedding or mattress toppers if someone’s on the sofa bed

Final Thoughts – Would We Book Again?

A sign of a good holiday is when the kids say ' can we come back?' While there were a few compromises when it came to sleeping arrangements, the overall experience was positive. The Silver 3 Bedroom Caravan at Hafan y Mor gave us the space and comfort we needed without breaking the bank. The location of 54 Cambrian Way was excellent, and pre-booking the caravan added to our convenience.

If you’re looking for family-friendly accommodation at Haven Hafan y Mor, the Silver grade caravans are a solid option, especially for shorter stays or larger families. We’d recommend considering paying the extra to pre-select your caravan if location is important to you.
