Last Update Aug 2025
We recently spent a 3-night family holiday at Haven Hafan y Mor, arriving Friday and heading home Monday, and what a weekend it was! We have visited Hafan y Mor several times over the years and in my opinion it just keeps getting better and better. Hafan y Mor is nestled on the North Wales coast near Pwllheli and is one of Haven’s largest parks. It's packed full of fun for the whole family whether you fancy swimming, riding, climbing or walking it has something for everyone.
We stayed in a modern, comfortable caravan (which I will talk about in another post) just a short walk from the main complex, and it was the perfect base for our adventure. Here's everything you need to know if you're thinking of booking a weekend at Haven Hafan y Mor.
Activities at Haven, Hafan y Mor
Haven is jam packed with activities and you will never hear those dreaded words ' I'm bored' from the kids because there is so much to do. All activities can be viewed on the Haven app including time slots, availability and prices.
Dragon Lakes Adventure Village – Non-Stop Fun for the Kids (and Big Kids Too!)
One of the main highlights of Hafan y Mor is the Dragon Lakes Adventure Village. Whether you're visiting with toddlers, tweens, or teens, there are activities to suit every age and energy level.
Aerial Adventure
Think high ropes, wobbly bridges, and zip wires. This activity is perfect for thrill-seekers! You’re securely harnessed in as you take on the course, all under the guidance of trained instructors.
Mini Aerial Adventure
Ideal for younger children who want to test their skills but on a smaller (and less scary!) scale. This activity was extremely popular during our stay.
The Jump
This is not for the faint-hearted! Climb the tower and free-fall onto a giant airbag below. It's one of the most exciting challenges on-site and an unforgettable experience. There are two levels to jump from and if I'm honest both looked terrifying.
Segways
Segways are a great way to explore the park in a fun way. We didn't see many people out on the segways this time around. Suitable for ages 12+.
Hire a Kart
This was top of little J's list. We did it last time and had so much fun. Each Kart can sit 4 people, 2 drivers (pedalling is tough!) and 2 passengers. Each child has to wear a helmet. You can explore so much in the hour you are given so make sure you head towards the beach for some lovely views.
4x4 Off-Roaders
Little ones can get behind the wheel of their very own mini 4x4 vehicle. They drive around a mini track with supervision. Little J did this activity last time we visited when he was a lot smaller. It's such a great activity.
Boating Lake
Hire a pedalo and enjoy some time on the lake. It’s relaxing, scenic, and a great way to enjoy the natural beauty of the park. These pedalos where very similar to the pedalos we enjoyed when we visited Scarborough, lots of fun.
Sports Cages
The sports cages are free of charge which unfortunately made them extremely popular. There are two football pitches and two basketball courts. The boys did manage to play on these each day but they get busy!!! We stayed close to the sports cages and heard people playing on them as early as 6am and as late as 12am.
Adventure Playground
This area is great for the kids featuring climbing frames, slides and a sand pit.
As well as these activities there is so much more that you can book or pre-book before your stay through the Haven app, which we found incredibly easy to use.
What Else Can I Do At Hafan y Mor?
Whilst most of the activities are available from Dragon Lakes there are some other fun things to do.
Adventure Golf
A colourful 9 hole course that’s perfect for some light-hearted family competition. This course was tough at times but we had lots of laughs trying to compete and some friendly competition too.
Splashaway Bay
I would say this was probably a highlight for us. Not only is it included in the price of your holiday but its actually really big inside with lots to do. Splashaway Bay has something for everyone, from splash zones and flumes to a lazy river and toddler pools. A particular favourite of ours was Pedwar Plunge, a 4 lane slide which was so much fun.
Top Tip - You can pre-book your swimming sessions using the Haven app before you arrive. This is highly recommended as sessions can fill up quickly, especially during peak times.
Crazy Pool
Crazy pool is a mixture between crazy golf and pool. 9 tables filled with obstacles for you to try and avoid so you can pot the ball under par. It was actually lots of fun.
Arcade & Gaming Zone
The arcade at Hafan y Mor is packed full of retro and modern games, from claw machines to driving simulators. It's located inside the Boardwalk entertainment venue.
Where to Eat - On Site Restaurants and Takeaways
We got the feeling that most people eat in their accommodation after hearing people talking about going back the lodge for lunch, or the caravan for dinner. If you are planning to make use of the kitchen during your stay there are two on site supermarkets offering a huge range of groceries. If you are planning to eat out whether you're after a quick bite or a sit-down meal, there’s something to suit every taste at Hafan y Mor.
The Coast House
This family-friendly restaurant serves classic pub-style dishes including burgers, fish and chips, pasta, and steak. They have a dedicated kids' menu too.
Cakery & Pizza Deck
Grab a slice of freshly made pizza or treat yourself to cake and coffee. The Cakery is an ideal afternoon treat stop, especially after a busy morning of activities.
Slim Chickens
A new addition to Haven parks, Slim Chickens is all about chicken tenders, wings, and fries served with your choice of sauces. Delicious!
Burger King & Papa John’s
Sometimes only fast food will do and thankfully you don’t have to leave the park to get it. Both Burger King and Papa John’s are available on-site and can even be ordered to your accommodation.
Live Entertainment at Hafan y Mor
Evenings at Hafan y Môr are just as fun as the daytime, thanks to a packed entertainment schedule in the Boardwalk, The Cove or The Glendower Pub.
The entertainment is everything you would expect from a family friendly holiday park. Kids' disco, character shows, bingo, live singers and live sports on TV. There’s always something going on. Our favourite was bingo and I was lucky to win a whopping £12!
Be sure to check the entertainment timetable on the Haven app to plan your evening around the acts you don’t want to miss.
Tips to Make the Most of Your Visit
- Use the Haven app before and during your stay to book activities, swimming sessions, and view entertainment listings
- Pre-book popular activities like the Aerial Adventure, Creative Studio and Splashaway Bay as early as possible
- Bring a bike or scooter – the park is huge and has lots of open space for kids to ride safely
- Bring a ball if your little one likes football or bastketball. The sports courts are a great way to burn off some energy
- The supermarkets on site can be costly if you're planning to buy lots of groceries. I would recommend taking as much as possible with you
- Don't miss out on a walk to the beach. Even if you're not a fan of the sand, the views of Wales are amazing
- If possible, opt for accommodation near the main complex to cut down on walking time between activities. Some of the caravans and lodges are miles away.
Our Thoughts
Having visited before we already knew what to expect at Haven Hafan y Mor. Our 3-night weekend at Haven Hafan y Mor was jam-packed with fun, laughter and memories. It’s one of the most activity-rich Haven parks we’ve visited and offers something for every member of the family, whatever the weather so you will never be short of things to do at Haven Hafan y Mor.
Whether you’re visiting for a weekend or a longer holiday, you won’t be short of things to do. And thanks to the Haven app, planning your stay and making the most of every minute has never been easier.
We’ll definitely be back and next time, we might just stay a little longer!
