Disclosure - We were invited to Adventure Coast Southport. All thoughts, opinions and photographs are our own.
If you're looking for a traditional British day out at a theme park at a budget-friendly price, then Adventure Coast in Southport is a fantastic choice for a family day out. Formerly known as Southport Pleasureland, Adventure Coast has undergone a transformation while keeping the nostalgic charm of classic seaside amusement parks. With an all-inclusive wristband system, a great selection of rides, and no surprise upcharges once inside, it’s an ideal destination for families who want maximum fun without breaking the bank.
In this post, we’ll share everything you need to know before visiting Adventure Coast in Southport, including prices, what’s included, ride highlights, opening times, and nearby attractions. Whether you're planning a weekend outing or a half-term treat, this guide will help you make the most of your visit.
All-Inclusive Wristband Pricing – No Hidden Costs
One of the biggest selling points of Adventure Coast is its transparent pricing. A single wristband costs just £25, and once you've paid, every ride inside is included in the price. That means no worrying about tokens, additional ride fees, or budgeting extra once you're through the gates.
The only extras you’ll need to consider are -
Food and drinks
Fairground-style games (hook-a-duck, ring toss, etc.)
Everything else? Included.
This is a huge plus for families, especially those with children who want to go on ride after ride. When we visited, we were pleased to discover that there were absolutely no upcharges or sneaky fees for the bigger rides – everything from the Waltzers to the Log Flume was included.
A Traditional Theme Park Experience by the Seaside
Adventure Coast delivers a traditional theme park feel with a vibrant selection of rides that cater to all ages. From classic family favourites to a few surprises for thrill-seekers, the atmosphere is reminiscent of a good old-fashioned funfair – but with the convenience of unlimited rides thanks to the wristband system.
Here are some of the highlights -
Waltzers
A seaside staple! The Waltzers are fast, fun, and one of the most popular rides in the park. The music, lights, and spin make this a must-ride for anyone visiting.
Dodgems
No traditional theme park is complete without the Dodgems. Perfect for a little friendly competition, and great for both kids and adults alike.
Fun House
Our boys absolutely loved the Fun House – a multi-level walk-through attraction filled with spinning floors, rope bridges, and moving platforms. It's just as amusing for the grown-ups to navigate as it is for the little ones!
Ghost Train
The Ghost Train gives you just the right amount of spooky thrills. Dark corners, creepy sound effects, and some fun jump-scares make it a brilliant family favourite.
Log Flume
Don’t forget to pack a poncho or a change of clothes – the Log Flume offers a proper splashdown! It’s a great way to cool off on a sunny day, and again, it’s included in your wristband.
Thrill Rides
For those seeking a bit more adrenaline, Adventure Coast also features several thrill rides. Think high-speed spinning rides and fast-paced attractions that older children and teens will love.
Quiet Day Perks - Unlimited Rides and No Queues
We visited Adventure Coast on a weekday during the school holidays, and were pleasantly surprised to find it quiet and relaxed. The staff were incredibly friendly, and because there were no queues on several rides, the boys were allowed to stay on and ride again – a dream come true for theme park lovers!
This flexible approach really made our visit even more special. Being able to enjoy rides multiple times without having to queue or rejoin made for a stress-free experience and fantastic value for money.
Food and Refreshments at Adventure Coast
While food and drinks aren’t included in the wristband, the selection on-site is just what you’d expect from a classic theme park. There are several food stalls and kiosks offering burgers, hot dogs, chips, and other quick bites to keep you going throughout the day.
We grabbed a few portions of chips and hot dogs and enjoyed them at one of the many outdoor seating areas. Prices were reasonable, and although not gourmet, the food hit the spot after a few hours of non-stop rides.
Opening Times and Best Times to Visit
Adventure Coast is open daily from 11am to 5pm during weekends and school holidays. It’s worth checking their website or social media channels before you visit, especially outside of peak times, just to confirm the opening schedule.
We recommend arriving early to make the most of your wristband and enjoy as many rides as possible. If you're looking for a quieter experience, weekdays outside of peak season are ideal.
