The Alton Towers Hotel

I wasn't going to blog about our recent visit to Alton Towers as I have blogged so many times already about Alton Towers but we did so much over the three days we were there so I wanted to give it a mention. We only decided to stay over very last minute and we managed to get a really good deal on the Alton Towers Hotel. We originally booked for just Saturday but later extended it to Friday and Saturday.

Big J and Little J Outside The Alton Towers Hotel

The Crazy People Have Arrived

If you haven't stayed at the Alton Towers Resort before there are two hotels to choose from and the new Enchanted Village. We have stayed in both hotels over the years, Splash Landing and The Alton Towers hotel. The hotels are next door to each other and are connected inside through a walkway. They are very much the same although we do prefer the Alton Towers hotel. Its usually slightly more expensive but the room is bigger and its nicely decorated too.

Check in time is 3pm but our room wasn't ready so we headed over to the Waterpark. The boys had some dinner in the Waterpark but if you do wish to dine in one of the restaurants in the hotels I would recommend booking a table on arrival as they are very popular.

Our room was on the first floor just by The Spa. The Family Room consists of a double bed and bunk beds. We didn't book a travel cot because little J is too big for a cot now as he sleeps in a toddler bed at home but we were not sure how he would be in a bunk bed.

Little J Checking Out His Bed

When we showed him his bed he climbed up and was quite excited. Big J had to sleep on the top bunk which he has never done before but was happy to give it a go.

The room is very basic but its just what you need as you are busy out and about all day anyway so its just a place to sleep really. There is tea and coffee making facilities in the room and small toiletries are provided in the bathroom.

Cbeebies Land Disco

Meeting Tree Fu Tom

As it was half term there was a Cbeebies Land Disco in the hotel which was open until 10pm every night. The room was decorated in purple and yellow and lots of characters made an appearance. Little J met Postman Pat, Mike The Knight and Tree Fu Tom. There was huge dance floor so the children could dance along to the songs,

Daddy and Big J enjoying a Game Of Fifa

Little J Chilling On The Xbox

In the centre of the room there was a huge XBOX ONE station which had about ten XBOX consoles. Perfect for big J who played Fifa and Forza with some other boys. He was chuffed. Little J had a go too.

There was a bar in the CBeebies Land Disco so Mummy and Daddy had a sneaky drink or two while the boys played.

After the disco we headed over to the arcades and had a few goes on the grab machines and both Daddy and Big J won a teddy each. They were so lucky.

Bunk Beds

Night Night

After we returned to the room it wasn't long before we were all in bed. Little J passed out instantly and slept right through the night in the bunk bed.

After a good nights sleep we woke to two little visitors sitting on our window.

Breakfast was included in the room rate and as we were staying in Alton Towers Hotel our breakfast is served in the secret garden restaurant.

There is a huge choice of hot and cold breakfast and we all had a little bit of both. It filled us up so we could enjoy Day 2 of our 3 days in Alton Towers.

After breakfast we headed over to the theme park were we met up with Uncle K, Uncle P, Cousin J and Aunty L.

  2. Sounds like a lovely couple of days away. Think the prices seem expensive for a basic room so maybe waiting till last minute is the best bet x

  6. I always think that at 3 1/2 T is too young for Alton Towers, but I'm so mistaken, think we might have to pay a visit this year. Great review!

  9. Ohmygoodness!! I think my Twinkles would absolutely LOVE this!! They'd love all the CBeebies stuff :)

The other great thing about being in the hotel is you're so close to the park!! So nice to be able to come and go to the themepark — that would be great for us as the boys still have a long nap at lunchtime! We could come back to the hotel room for their sleep, then head out again later! :) Thanks so much for linking up with #TwinklyTuesday x
