When you become a parent it's the happiest day of your life but it can also be the scariest. Our little ones enter the world without any guide or instruction booklet and it's up to us to figure out how to make sure we look after them to the best of our ability. We then spend years making sure we protect them from harm and worrying about them is constant. There are some situations that parents may struggle with and one is starting up conversations with their children about their feelings. This book is both humorous and charming, and prompts children to discuss the idea of friendship with parents and peers. Learning to build and maintain friendships also helps children with important life skills such as sharing, negotiating, empathising and that all-important apology when things go wrong.

Written by Molly Potter and illustrated by Sarah Jennings the Let's Talk series is such a nice and relaxed why to approach the difficult to talk about situations. The series is aimed at children aged 4+ and would be perfect to read together. Social, emotional and mental wellbeing is such an important part of our life and should be talked about more.
