Why Does Little J Stare At The Washing Machine?

Little J is absolutely fascinated with the washing machine. He loves it and if I let him I think he would happily sit there for hours watching it. I wondered is it normal for a child to love the washing machine?

Little J's Toe Operation

I haven't blogged about it yet because to be honest it's taken me this long to actually face the reality and the fact that my little J needed an operation.
So little J didn't actually get much warning about his operation date, we only got a letter a few days before. You can read why little J needed an operation here.

New York Times Square II Jigsaw

I've had some spare time recently which is a surprise considering its the Easter Holidays, and I have been taking time out and completing a jigsaw I was sent from jigsaws. I chose New York Times Square II because I love New York, I got married there and our hotel is on the puzzle. I was sent the 250 piece jigsaw and I thought it would be easy but I was wrong.

Monkeys Go Ape

We have seen Go Ape before in Delamere Forest but they have just opened up a junior course called Tree Top Junior and it looks lots of fun. I am a wimp when it comes to heights but Daddy and Big J love anything like this so today they put on their harness and took to the trees.

Let's all get Nakd

I have seen Nakd bars in the supermarket when looking at the 'free from' ranges and I always think if they don't have something included like gluten or dairy then they probably won't taste nice. I was so wrong because after trying Nakd bars over the last week I can honestly say that they are actually really tasty.

Birthday Wishlist for a 12 year old boy

Big J's birthday is coming up and he has been looking at ideas of things to get, so I thought I would create a wishlist for him.

Big J is really into Star Wars at the moment. He does this every year, he becomes obsessed with Star Wars but then he moves onto something else but it always comes back.

Really Good UK

I have always loved Really Good Uk and in the past they have always helped me by providing items for my fundraising.

Walking on a Windy Weekend

Although the sun was shining this weekend it was very windy but it didn't stop us all heading out for our weekly family fun day.

First was my favourite place in the whole city The Albert Dock

Give Great Gizmos Gifts This Easter

I'm not a big fan of Easter Eggs, in fact this year we have said that we don't really want or need any from friends and family so instead we are happy to give to a charity or maybe just a little toy for big and little J. Great Gizmos recently sent us some lovely gifts that are an ideal alternative to Easter eggs.

First was a lovely Plan Toys Coast Guard Boat

Strike while the sun is hot

The weather has been up and down the last week. Hot one day and very windy and cold the next so while it was warm and sunny we decided to head out to the park.

Little J is now cutting his 6th tooth and is dribbling more than ever. Skibz gave us the chance for little J to try out their funky dribble bibs and I love them.

Woohoo Inspiring Blog Award :)

Wow I am both pleased and honoured that the lovely Lucie over at Our World and Autism has nominated me for the Inspiring Blog Award. So flattered.
I started my blog just 2 months ago so I am a newbie and learning every day but its a lot of fun and I have met some amazing people. Whether its Mummy Bloggers, Fashion Bloggers or Bloggers who blog about a specific topic, everyone is just so nice and will help you out morning, noon and night.
There are just a few award rules
1. Thank and link the amazing person who nominated you
2. List the rules and display the award
3. Share seven facts about yourself
4. Nominate 15 other blogs and remember to comment on their blogs to let them know you've nominated them (provide a link to your post)
5. This rule is optional but you can proudly display the award logo anywhere on your blog and follow the person who nominated you
Okay so 7 facts about me.
1. I was able to say the alphabet backwards before I could say it forwards. How? We had magnetic letters on our fridge when I was about 3years old and I used to read from the end to the front of the alphabet. I can still do it now.
2. My biggest fear is needles. I shake from top to toe with just the thought of them and if anyone mentions veins I almost pass out.
3. I am unbeaten at Connect 4 - No matter who I play against NO ONE can beat me.
4. I have won a trip to Disneyland Paris twice and they both included a private party when the park was closed. Amazing!
5. I had my gallbladder removed in 2011 after being in hospital for almost 3 months. I had an emergency operation so they couldn't do it keyhole :(
6. We visit Alton Towers numerous times throughout the year but we always go around Halloween / Fireworks to celebrate our engagement anniversary. This is where Daddy proposed to me.
7. Even though I have two football fanatics living in our house I still have no clue about the rules of football.
There are some amazing blogs out there and I wish I could nominate them all but I would like to nominate

Love2Read Photo Book

Last Christmas I got a lovely surprise off Daddy, big J and little J, they bought me a gorgeous photobook. I wasn't expecting it and it is so lovely but there is one problem little J loves it so much that I never get to look at it long enough before it's snatched from my hands.

Rest in Peace Peaches

Last night when I heard the news that Peaches Geldof had died I was shocked and stunned and then my thoughts went straight to her two young children.

Peaches who was just 25 years old had two boys, one who is just weeks younger than my little J. How sad to think that they will never know what a truly lovely woman their mum was.

Like many I follow celebrity news and gossip by reading magazines and the internet and yes she was a wild child in her teenage years but she had put that behind her and she always seemed so happy and settled with her family life.

After having her first son, Astala who was born in 2012, she was often quoted as saying "I want Astala to have a mummy and daddy together for ever. The minute I held him, everything started to heal."

She made it quite public that she had never got over her mothers death and that she didn't want history to repeat itself so after the birth of her second child, she and her husband decided to take on "attachment parenting". This involves parents forming extremely close bonds with their children for life to create a life cycle of compassion. How sad that just less than a year later she is no longer here to follow through with her passion.

Her father, Bob released a statement saying that all the family are 'beyond pain'.

Just less than 24hrs after posting a photo on twitter of her and her mum the police are treating Peaches Geldof's death as non suspicious.

Thoughts are with her family

RIP Peaches

Keepsake Box by Freya Design

I was looking for something special for little J's 1st birthday so I was browsing the internet for ideas. I was hoping to find something special that he could keep. I was reading reviews online about websites and their products and I found Freya Design. When it arrived my dad was here, and when I opened it we were both blown away. It is amazing.

Daisy Roots

You may have already read that little J was born with a deformed big toe (which you can read about here) and is at the moment recovering at home from his operation to correct this. We are so pleased that once he is better he will be able to own his first pair of shoes and wear his cosy fleece Daisy Roots Slippers.

Daisy Roots kindly sent us a pair of Blue Fleece slippers with pale blue spots for little J to try.

Up Early, Washed, Dressed And Ready To Head Out

Well it was a bright and sunny weekend last week so we were up early, washed, dressed and ready to head out for a nice stroll in the park. Croxteth Hall and Country Park is so beautiful and a fun day out.

Kiddie Cubes Review

Little J was given the chance to try out some delicious meals thanks to Kiddie Cubes and he loved every single mouthful.

Mr Nutcase Personalised Phone Case Review

When I am out and about I like to make sure I have some nice photos of the two boys with me. Mummy had been given the opportunity to review 'Mr Nutcase' personalised phone cases, and while I wasn't sure that it would be to my taste (as I am far too fussy when it comes to gadgets and their accessories, normally going for Apple or Samsung only) I thought I would have a look at the site and see what I thought.

Swim Nappy by Baba + Boo Review

Baba + Boo sent us a swim nappy for little J to try recently which was perfect timing because little J loves swimming at the moment.

Little J was sent a Red Reusable swim nappy.

Green Toys Shape Sorter Review

Little J has had so much for fun this week with his new Green Toys Shape Sorter that we were sent to review. Sometimes it worth remembering that classic toys are called classic for a reason.
