The Story of Peter Pan

This year’s pantomime brings the classic story of Peter Pan to life with all the magic, adventure and humour you’d expect. The tale follows Peter, the boy who never grows up, as he whisks Wendy and her siblings away to the enchanting world of Neverland. Their adventure is filled with daring battles, playful fairies, mischievous Lost Boys and of course, the infamous pirate Captain Hook. A Strong and Energetic Cast

One of the standout elements of this year’s pantomime is the strength of the cast.

Darren John Langford delivers a fantastic performance as Captain Hook, giving the audience plenty of reasons to boo while adding just the right amount of comedy and theatrical flair.

Lewis Pryor captures the spirit of Peter Pan perfectly, bringing energy, confidence and a real sense of fun to the role.

Michael Chapman, starring as Dame Tootles, is a true highlight of the show. His humour, warmth and interaction with the audience create the lively atmosphere that makes pantomime so special.

Michael Alan Bailey makes a brilliant Mr Smee, offering constant comedy throughout.

Darcey Blake is a lovely and engaging Wendy.

Ellie Clayton shines as Tiger Lily, bringing strength and personality to her scenes.

Tasha Rowson adds plenty of sparkle as Tink, giving the show that magical touch.

The cast work extremely well together, and every performer brings something memorable to the stage. The chemistry, timing and energy made the show enjoyable from beginning to end.

Our Thoughts

We were genuinely impressed with this year’s Peter Pan pantomime. The intimate setting of the Gladstone Theatre added to the overall experience, making the performance feel personal and engaging. The story flowed beautifully and the cast delivered every moment with enthusiasm and passion. We particularly enjoyed the modern touches scattered throughout the script, references to the Pink Pony Club, Jet2 holidays, and even the humorous nod to 6..7 had the audience laughing.

Like most pantomimes, some of the jokes were more aimed at adults, but that’s exactly what makes pantomime fun for the whole family. Nothing felt out of place and the show struck the perfect balance between family-friendly entertainment and light-hearted humour for the grown-ups.

Overall, we had a fantastic time and would absolutely return to the Gladstone Theatre for future pantomimes and productions. If you are looking to book a pantomime this Christmas then this local theatre delivered excellent entertainment. Peter Pan is a brilliant choice for families looking to celebrate Christmas with a magical and memorable show.
