Christmas 2018 | Gift Guide - The Book Lovers

13 November 2018

As a family we love books. Whether it's a bedtime story for little J, A rom com for me or a game guide for John we love reading. Here's a few of our favourites this November.

I have decided to read more over the next few months and this is on my to read list. One New York Christmas tells the story of Lara Weeks. She is heading to New York with best friend Susie for the Christmas trip of a lifetime. A festive break in the snowy Big Apple visiting the tourist hotspots, not to mention the shopping, seems like the perfect way for Lara to get over her ex-boyfriend. Or maybe make him so jealous he begs for a second chance.

We have received many personalised books before for birthdays or Christmas but Where Next, Teddy? has to be my favourite so far. Create your own character to join Teddy on a dreamy adventure from outer space to the bottom of the sea, from the wild jungle to the big city, and everywhere in between. ‘Where Next, Teddy?’ from Chapterful is a personalised story that puts the child at the heart of the story.

Another book that is perfect for copying up with. Frost is a hard back book about one special fox on one amazing journey. The neighbours all complain about the foxes hanging around the flat where Cassie lives, close to the river Thames, but Cassie thinks they’re beautiful. Her favourite is a small fox with a white tail-tip, who she names Frost. One night she catches sight of him out in the snow, looking cold and thin, and decides to sneak him some food.
* Written as an interactive guessing game, with eye-catching artwork and an exotic array of animals to marvel over, this is a gorgeous book to treasure – can you guess who has more legs than a butterfly? And who is wrinklier than a hedgehog?

Each page draws you further into a beautifully vibrant world of huge elephants, slithery snakes and growling tigers, inviting you to compare one animal to another and learn comparison words and adjectives from the natural world.

Sharon King-Chai's sumptuous art and the cleverly designed shaped pages make Animalphabet a rich delight, while Julia Donaldson's rhythmic words are a pleasure to read aloud.
This Christmas indulge in some me-time and enjoy this uplifting and heart-warming story from international bestseller Sarah Morgan. Full of romance, laughter and sisterly drama, The Christmas Sisters is the perfect book to curl up with this festive season.

One Snowy Night is the perfect paperback to cosy up with on a winters eve. On a snowy night, a boy befriends a yeti, and a rabbit helps Jack Frost sprinkle ice and snow. A collection of cosy animal stories, the ideal Christmas gift for sharing as a family.
