Visiting The Ice Cream Farm in Cheshire

Updated August '25

Disclosure - We were invited to Ice Cream Farm for the purpose of this post. All thoughts, opinions and photographs are our own.

This summer, we made our way back to one of our favourite places to visit The Ice Cream Farm. The Ice Cream Farm is a family-friendly day out packed with activities, delicious food, and of course, the famous award-winning Cheshire Farm ice cream.

We’ve visited the Ice Cream Farm many times and we always have a fantastic time that we couldn’t wait to go back. Two of our absolute favourites from our last trip were Gemstone Cove and Strawberry Falls Mini Golf, and they were top of our to do list again. We also made it our mission to explore some new areas, including The Loft, the mini escape rooms, and the new Ice Cream Fields playground.

Whether you’ve been before or it’s your first visit, here’s everything we enjoyed during our summer day out at The Ice Cream Farm.

What Attractions Can We Enjoy At The Ice Cream Farm

The Ice Cream Farm has a huge range of activities to enjoy and these are a few of our favourites.

Gemstone Cove

Our first stop was Gemstone Cove, and it’s easy to see why it’s a family favourite. Armed with a pan, you sift through sand and water to uncover shiny gemstones. This activity is so relaxing and enjoyable.  Little J was just as thrilled this time as he was on our last visit. He collected a nice bag of gems to take home.

Strawberry Falls Mini Golf

From gem hunting, we moved on to Strawberry Falls Mini Golf. This bright and colourful course is themed around all things sweet, think giant strawberries, candy canes, and ice cream cones. It’s fun for all ages, with just the right balance of challenge. We laughed our way through the course as some holes took me 7+ shots and as with our last visit, it was one of the highlights of our day.

Discovering The Loft

One of the biggest surprises of the day was The Loft a space we’d never explored before. It’s tucked away upstairs and filled with arcade games, pool tables, darts, and pinball machines. It’s the perfect spot to escape the midday sun or enjoy some indoor fun if the weather turns.

Little J was particularly excited to find an F1 racing seat complete with a steering wheel and pedals, connected to an Xbox. He’s wanted one of these at home for ages, so getting the chance to try it out was a dream come true. I have a feeling it’s just made its way to the top of his Christmas list!

Mini Escape Rooms

We’re huge fans of escape rooms, so when we spotted the three mini escape rooms at The Ice Cream Farm, we knew we had to try one. Each room lasts just 10 minutes, making them the perfect bite-sized challenge.

We chose The Sweet Shop escape room, and it didn’t disappoint. At £12 for the 10-minute game, it’s an extra cost on top of your day out, but as escape room lovers we couldn’t resist. The puzzles were fun, the theming was great and best of all we escaped, keeping our 100% success record intact!

Daisy’s Garden

Not every activity comes with a price tag. Daisy’s Garden is a free outdoor play area right in the centre of The Ice Cream Farm. Packed with slides, swings, and mini trampolines, it’s a brilliant spot for kids to let off steam while parents take a breather.

It’s colourful, safe, and perfect for a mid-day break between paid activities. We always appreciate attractions that include free play spaces as part of the entry especially if spending a full day there.

The Ice Cream Fields

For something a little bigger, there’s the Ice Cream Fields, a brand new sensory playground designed to engage all the senses. With climbing equipment, balance challenges, and plenty of space to run around, it’s ideal for slightly older children who want a more adventurous play space.

Buying A Play Pass

One of the best tips we can give is to purchase a Play Pass. The Play Pass works like a pre-paid card, you load it with credit in advance and simply tap in at each activity. This means you don’t have to keep paying separately at each attraction and it also saves you money. The activities work out cheaper when paid for via the pass.

Another bonus is that you can share a Play Pass between children, so you don’t need one for each child. It really does make the day run much smoother and keeps the focus on having fun rather than juggling tickets and money.

Eating at The Ice Cream Farm – Sticky Paws Restaurant

The Ice Cream Farm has plenty of food and drink huts scattered around, so grabbing a snack is never difficult, b for something more substantial, we recommend Sticky Paws Restaurant.

It’s the perfect place to rest and recharge between activities, with a menu that includes toasties, burgers, and kids’ meals. Prices are reasonable, the portions are generous, and the food is delicious. We enjoyed a relaxed break here before heading back out for the afternoon’s fun.

The Ice Cream Parlour - Over 50 Flavours to Choose From

No visit to The Ice Cream Farm would be complete without ice cream. The Ice Cream Parlour is an absolute treat, with over 50 flavours to choose from. From classics like Vanilla and Mint Choc Chip to more adventurous options like Bubblegum or Sticky Toffee Pudding, there’s something for every taste.

And it’s not just about the flavours, you can customise your scoop with cones, tubs, flakes, sprinkles, sauces, and more. We each picked something different and enjoyed our ice creams inside in the ice cream parlour. It was the perfect way to end our summer day out.

Our Thoughts

I think it's obvious that we love the Ice Cream Farm. It's a fun day out with the kids and it's definitely  more than just a place to grab an ice cream. I think now little J is getting older we preferred some attractions more than others and finding The Loft and the mini escape rooms did really make the day more enjoyable.

If you’re visiting this summer, our top tips are to buy a Play Pass to save money and time, plan your must-do activities early, and leave room for a scoop (or two) of ice cream before you leave.

It’s a place where kids can burn off energy, grown-ups can join in the fun, and everyone can leave with happy memories.

The Ice Cream Farm in Cheshire really is one of the best days out for families, with so many activities, delicious food, and the best ice cream in the North West.
