What To Expect At Flip Out Liverpool

As we can't always rely on the weather we always try to head to an indoor play area when it's raining as little J always has energy to burn. We find a few hours is just enough to let him run, bounce, play and explore. He definitely has his favourite indoor play areas however he is always keen to try new play areas that pop up. We are already a fan of Flip Out Aintree so was looking forward to visiting its new indoor play area Flip Out Liverpool.

What To Expect At Flip Out Liverpool, Unit 6 Clayton Square Shopping Centre, Liverpool, L1 1QR

Located in Clayton Square Shopping Centre, Flip Out Liverpool has 3 floors filled with attractions for the whole family to enjoy. You'll be spoiled for choice. We're the ultimate indoor adventure park in Liverpool!

Our Review Of Flip Out Liverpool
Flip Out Liverpool is based in Clayton Square in Liverpool City Centre. It is a different type of Flip Out as it isn's based around the traditional trampolines and bouncy play areas you would normally associate with Flip Out.  Instead it is made up of different activities you can do - all within the one entry price.

Entry is for either Two or Three hours and there are a variety of options for families and groups to choose from to suit your needs.  The good news is that you can keep your shoes on and don't need to buy or remember to bring the socks from last time.  There is no need for a safety briefing so once you have your wristbands you are straight onto the activities.

There are 9 activities to choose from with 8 on the first floor and just Laser Quest up the stairs on the next level, along with the party rooms. We found that two hours was enough time to be able to experience all of the activities, especially as we went at opening time and the first hour was not too busy.

The lockers are located by The Diner and cost £2 for 2 hours - they are electronic and you input your date of birth and remember a picture of an animal to open and close your locker which you can do as many times are you like during your time.

football pitch

After storing our jackets we started with Interactive Football - there is a small pitch area that is nicely marked out like a full size pitch. In the goals at each end are targets which count as a goal when hit. Each game counts down from five minutes and the goals are counted up electronically on the scoreboard. You can also play a power play game that you select using buttons on the side at the start of the game. At random points in the game a buzzer will sound and each goal is worth five goals during the time the buzzer sounds which makes for a fun few seconds. We all loved this activity and managed to play a few times during our visit.

Next we headed to the Bumper Cars. These are more like space buggy type cars than traditional Bumper Cars but just as much fun once you have mastered the controls. You have two levers, one left and one right and one spins the car one way and one the other. Pushing then both forward moves you forward. We just had three of us on the arena when we tried out the bumper cars so there where lots of other cars parked up which took up a fair but of space, so I think this would better with more drivers and more space available to get some speed up. Each session lasts around five minutes and you can join the queue straight away for another go if you wish.

Ninja Playground was next, with Little J excited to go on the big slide. He went on this activity on his own and enjoyed climbing up and finding his way across to the slide. You can stay for as long as you want to on the playground, as there are a few obstacles and slides to go up and down.

Little J wanted to go on the Battle Cannon Arena before having a quick break, this is an air powered, ball shooting game where you collect balls from the bottom level and take them up to the top level to load your gun and aim for targets on the other side of the the arena. We would have preferred to have been able to shoot each other as the balls are only made of soft foam, however this wasn't possible as all the gun areas are closed off other than than the target area.

As we went to have a drink, we spotted the sign for Laser Quest and decided to do this first. This is the biggest activity in terms of space available to move around in - and our favourite activity to do at Flip Out. You are kitted out with a vest and attached gun - each gun is named so you know which player you are - Little J was pleased to be 'Bastion' from Overwatch. There are targets on your shoulders, chest, back and shoulders that are lit up and easy to see in the dark making it fun for all to play. We played our first game with just three of us and it was really fun to see who would win - Big J of course. On our second game there where a lot more players involved and this actually made for a better game with us all getting a much higher points score at the end.

We headed to 'The Diner' to have a short rest and a drink. There are plenty of drinks and snacks to choose from, Little J only wanted a drink so chose an unlimited slush which cost £5. You get a cup that you can refill a may times as you want while you are at Flip Out.

We still had a few activities to go to, and next was 'Floor is Fire' - this is a balance and physical activity similar to Ninja Warrior with balance beams, monkey bars with the aim of not touching the floor. There are 2 courses side by side, one harder than the other which means that everyone can have a go.

The Ball pit is next to Floor is Fire, we didn't go in as Little J wanted to have a go at Roller Skating. There is a small area for skating on, and lots of pairs of skates hanging next it - you just need to look for your size.  The area was unsupervised when we went to it, however there is plenty of space to get your boots on, leave your shoes at the side. Little J didn't get much further than clinging onto the sides but said he enjoyed in anyway.

We ended with another game of Interactive football and then collected our things from the locker. Little J said he really enjoyed Flip Out Liverpool and definitely wants to go again.
