Review | Snow Play at Chill Factore

Disclosure - We were invited to Chill Factore for the purpose of the review. All thoughts, opinions and photographs are our own.

This week, we headed to Chill Factore situated within the Beyond complex just outside the Trafford Centre.  Our last visit here we to the Play Factore, however this time we decided to have some snow play time.

We have visited Chill Factore a few times before, this time Little J was looking forward to the Snow Park, which is available from age 4 upwards and offers fun activities for both children and adults in blocks of either 1 or 2 hours.

You can hire snow jackets, trousers and snow boots from the reception area, and if you have forgotten gloves or hats you can buy these too.  Next its time to head to the entrance to the slopes where you can collect your safety helmet and listen to a short safety briefing.

The Snow Park has 3 separate activities that you can experience

1 - The Ice Slide. This is a a large slide that goes from the top of the smaller slope all the way to the bottom. The slide is full of ice and has twists, turns and tunnels for you to slide through on your way down.  You lie down on your back on a sledge, holding on as you go and the further you lie back the faster you go. By the time out hour was up this was Little J's favourite activity.

2 - Downhill Donuts.  This has three lanes, again from the top of the smaller slope to the bottom.  You can ride in donuts either solo or in pairs and when you start the ride you will be assisted into your donut by a staff member and asked whether you want to stay straight or spin down. Spinning is definitely more fun, and with two of you in the donut you go faster than if you are on your own.

3 - Sledge 'n' slide. This is exactly as it sounds. You sledge from the top of the slope to the bottom. Two sledges are allowed on the slope at the same time, so perfect for a race with a friend or a battle where you try to knock each other off the sledge.  For smaller riders you can also fit two on a sledge, Little j preferred this, having fallen off the sledge when he attempted the slope on his own.

We played for an hour and it went really quickly, maybe we will book the 2 hour block next time. Little J really enjoyed it and next time wants to take a friend with him to share the fun.

  1. OH this looks amazing. My kids and I would love this, I wish there was one closer to us, because we would definitely go. That's the downside to the UK and it not getting enough snow to properly play in really, or do snow activities. Places like this are great to make up for it.
