AD | 5 Money Saving Tips

We have just returned from two weeks at Walt Disney World in Florida and already I am planning our next holiday. I am one of those people that starts looking at deals for their next trip before we even get home. The reality is that we could never afford to head back there straight away as it is such an expensive holiday but it won't stop me planning ways to make some extra cash to put in our holiday fund pot.

Whenever I start to think about saving money I instantly think of cashback sites and apps. I've been using them for years and it's such an easy way to make a few pounds here and there and before you know it those pounds all add up and really make a difference.

My favourite cashback site is Quidco. If I am planning on buying anything online I always check Quidco first. How it works is very simple you search on Quidco for the website you are going to buy from. Let's look at example, JD Sports. Big J always buys his trainers at JD Sports and they are usually well over £100 a pair. At the moment if I click to JD from the Quidco website I will receive 6% cashback. If the trainers are £150 I would earn £9 cashback. It's so simple. Once your cashback has tracked and confirmed you can withdraw in a range of ways which again can make you even more money.

If you decide to have your cashback paid via BACS or Paypal you will receive the amount owed however if you choose to receive a voucher for a variety of shops they will give you extra on top. For example if I wanted to redeem my cashback to a Costa gift card they would give me an extra 10% on top so my £9 would become £9.90 for free.

It really is so easy and if you don't use it already I would definitely recommend signing up.

My favourite cashback apps are CheckoutSmart and Shopmium which I know I have mentioned many times before and I really can't recommend them enough.

Both of these apps save me so much money each month. The apps are very easy to use from your mobile or tablet and they have a list of food and drink items which you can earn cashback on when you are out and about getting your shopping from the Supermarket.

At the moment there are lots of offers on Checkout Smart, for example they are offering £2 cash back on Kelloggs Granola if you buy at Asda. In Asda at the moment it is currently priced at £3 so I would get 570g of Kelloggs Granola for just £1.

If I want to buy these I pop along to Asda purchase them for £3, come home, load up my app, snap a photo of my receipt and a few hours later I will receive £2 in my Checkout Smart Account. It really is that simple. They also offer lots of free items too so you get 100% cashback on these.

Shopmium has an offer on at the moment giving you the opportunity to try Wow Hydrate water for free. All you need to do is pop along to Tesco or Morrisons, buy a flavour of your choice, upload your receipt and Shopmium will refund you the full amount straight to your bank or paypal address.

I like to save the money I receive during the month from cash backs. You will be surprised how quickly it banks up.

If you would like to try Shopmium you can download the app and if you pop in my referral code KFYYKYGQ we can both receive increased offers.

I know cashback sites won't be for everyone and it does take a little while to bank up money but they are a great way to help save up some extra pounds. However if you are looking for a quick way to make money then you may have to look at other ways.

There maybe a time when an emergency may crop up and you need extra cash, we have all been there and panic does start to creep in especially if you don't have any spare cash to hand. Cash Lady can offer quick loans to those that need that extra cash quickly. John and I needed a quick loan when we first started living together and I remember thinking it was a bad idea however as it was only a small amount we were able to pay it back within a few months but it really did help help us in a sticky situation and I wouldn't hesitate to do it again if needed. Quick loans like the one we needed tend to be smaller amounts and over shorter periods, for example a few months.

Selling unwanted stuff on eBay can also be a quick way to make some extra cash too. I haven't used it in a long time but some of our friends do and they love it, making a steady income from it each month. We all have things that we no longer need that we just push to the back of the wardrobe or in the loft. Dig it out and list it on eBay or selling sites such as Gumtree or Facebook local selling pages. You will be surprised what items sell.

There are probably lots more ways to save or make a few extra pennies here and there but these are a few of our favourites. Do you have any money saving tips? Share them below.
