Christmas 2018 | Our Favourite Stories

You may have read that we wrapped lots of Christmas books and Winter stories up for little J's book Advent Calendar. He loves books whether it is trying to read them himself or a bedtime story. This is the first year we have done a book advent and I am really excited to have lots of festive bedtime stories each night.

Most of the stories we had from previous years but as we only get them out at Christmas time little J will be very excited.

Kevin the Carrot is a new addition this year. We were lucky to pick up a copy from a local Aldi a few weeks ago. Little J has already read it but he loved it and spends most of the night snuggling his carrot family that we were lucky to find.

The Dinosaur That Pooped Christmas is one of my favourites from the selection above. It's written by Tom Fletcher and Dougie Poynter from one of my favourite bands, McFly.

Where next, Teddy? Is also a new addition this year and whilst it's not a specific Christmas story it's personalised and the story is about little J and his adventures with his teddy.

Little J's favourite story is The Perfect Present. I think last year we had to read it every night. He loves the story of two friends who go out shopping on Christmas Eve searching for the perfect present for each other. It is a lovely story.

I made sure that The Night Before Christmas is number 24 in the advent, a perfect story for Christmas Eve.

Little J absolutely loves his Mr Men book collection so I had to sneak out Mr Snow. Luckily he hasn't noticed yet.

Stick Man is another of our favourites and so is The Snowman and The Snowdog. As well as reading the book we will also be watching the TV movie versions of the books over the Christmas period.

Do you have any Christmas books? What are your favourites?

  9. Awww, we did book advent when my girls were younger, and they absolutely LOVED it! They're a bit too old for it now, but I kinda miss our nightly festive book reading. Don't miss all the wrapping though... ;) x
