Review | Oven Cleaning With Fantastic Services

I know we all like to do a spot of Spring cleaning but I also like to do a big clear out and clean in Autumn, getting ready for Christmas. I think the Summer months are so busy for us that we tend to be on the lazy side when it comes to cleaning so I really feel it this time of year. I have been browsing Fantastic Services looking to see what they could help me with and I found a job that I knew would be perfect for us.

Our kitchen is less than a year old but I looked at our oven recently and it was disgusting. I hadn't noticed it before but it was covered in grime. I have tried to use oven cleaning products before but they don't really work well for us so I asked fantastic services if they would come to our home and clean our oven for us. One less job for me to worry about.

The process in booking via the Fantastic Services website is very easy. Firstly you pop in your postcode. This is to check that the services are available in your area. Next you can choose from a dropdown menu what you would like done. There are many options including cleaning, gardening, pest control and removals. I chose cleaning then was given another dropdown menu. Here is where I chose oven cleaning.

The next page is about the service you require. Is is a double oven? a single? Ours is a double. Once I had clicked double oven it then offered other services including extractor fan, splash back, hob? Now that I have had this done I wish I had of paid extra for the fan and hob but I didn't. Maybe next time.

Now that I had chose my service it gave me a brief description on what I should expect

What's included:

Inspection of the oven /cooker before and after cleaning

Dismantling and soaking removable parts in a dip tank
(I have highlighted this as this did not happen. They actually used my sink and granite work surface to wash and store the pieces of the oven. John wasn't impressed by this as it could have scratched our basin and surface.

Scraping off accumulated grease

Putting back together the removable parts of the oven / cooker

Polishing the oven / cooker

We booked in a time that we were available and that was booking complete.

On the day two cleaners arrived to do the job. They brought lots of equipment and seemed really nice however they did not speak a lot of English and I think they got a little frustrated at times as they couldn't understand what John was saying.

They did look at the oven first before dismantling it and beginning their cleaning. I wasn't actually here but John said they took the whole thing apart and he was worried it wouldn't go back together again.

Like I said earlier they used our sink to clean all the grease off which means that has all dripped down our plughole and our pipes. Not really happy about that but they must not have brought a dip tank with them.

They spent over a hour and a half cleaning the oven between them and they have down an amazing job. The oven came up like new. They checked it worked before they finished.

Overall we are really happy with the job they did and I would definitely consider using Fantastic Services again for other jobs around the house.
