Monthly Review Round Up - September

12 October 2016

This month we have been trying out Good 4 U, Go Outdoors and Degustabox.

Good 4 U Super Bites

I am always on the lookout for something new and lunchbox friendly to add to little J's lunch as I often find myself buying the same things over and over. When we received the Super Bites I was instantly thrilled that they come in a perfect size for a snack.

Naturally rich in calcium for healthy bones and teeth, Super Bites Kids are little balls of magic guaranteed to revolutionise lunch box packing for parents.

Packed with fibre and magnesium rich, Super Bites Kids combine dates, milled sunflower seeds, raisins and freeze-dried strawberries; what’s more, the tasty bite-sized energy balls come in two scrumptious flavours, 'Strawberry & Vanilla' and 'Banana & Cocoa'.

When I opened the pack I was nervous that little J would be put off by their appearance but after convincing him to have a try he seemed to like it. He definitely preferred the Banana & Cocoa and after trying both flavours I also agreed that they are the nicest out of the two flavours.

After we had finished the packs we were sent I did have a look online on Good 4 U to see if there are any other products available as I do like opting for healthy snacks. There are more products but these seem to be the only ones specifically aimed for children.  You can also view stockists online too.

You all know that I do love my Degustabox deliveries each month. It's so nice to try out new brands that you may not have considered before.

This months box probably wasn't one of my favourites but as always we gave everything a go.

Get Fruity Tangy Pineapple, Coconut & Lime bar – £1

Get Fruity have won awards for their products and the tangy pineapple, coconut and lime bar is absolutely delicious. It contains gluten free oats, virgin coconut oil and has no added refined sugars.

Cirio Borlotti Beans – £1.89 for a pack of three

Cirio Borlotti beans are picked freshly and steam cooked in their can to preserve their soft texture. They’re great to add to a range of recipes and are a great source of fibre, vitamins and proteins.

Miso Tasty Miso Soup – £3.65

We have had something similar in Degustabox before and I did try it however it isn't something I enjoy so passed this on to my Mum.

Chia Bia Milled Chia Seeds and Chia Bia Whole Chia Seeds – £1 each

Chia seeds are great to add to dishes for a nutritional boost. Chia is packed with Omega 3, fibre, protein and vitamins.

Mrs Crimble’s Fusilli (gluten free) – £1.99

I love Mrs Crimbles cakes especially the coconut ones so I was so pleased to see pasta in this months box. It is really yummy and will be on my shopping list in future.

Metcalfe’s Popcorn Thins Dark Chocolate Coated Corn Thins – £1

I'm not a fan of these type of snacks so I pass them on to my Mum. She loves these.

Teisseire Sirop drink – £2.99

Cape Drinks (Sparkling Peach & Lychee and Sparkling Pineapple & Passionfruit) – £1.59 each

Any drinks that come in Degustabox I usually pass to my Dad. He loves all the weird flavours like Jasmine or Cucumber. He enjoyed these too.

Say Yes To No Bread Chips (BBQ flavour)- £1.49

These are so delicious and I have to find them in our local shops.

This month I can offer my readers a whopping £7 off your next Degustabox just enter BLDEG15 when checking out.

Now that we are heading in to Autumn I was really excited when Go Outdoors got in touch for us to try out a children's Hi Gear Stowaway Jacket.

As a busy parent we are always in and out whether it's to the shops, a planned day trip or an unexpected visit to the park. It has been known that we have been totally unprepared for the Great British weather and been caught out when the heavens have decided to open.

The Hi Gear Children's Stowaway Jacket is lightweight, waterproof, breathable and simply packed. So compact that it actually fits in my handbag with ease or perfect to keep in the car.
The actual jacket is really good quality especially for the price. It's obviously not designed for a cold Winter's day unless you have extra layers on underneath but as rain mac it is perfect.
It has a protective flap over the zip to block rain out, a spacious hood that will fit over your hat, and is long enough to let you perch on a wet wall without worrying about getting damp.
It's been so lovely knowing that whether rain or shine you have a secret stash in your handbag to keep your little ones dry whatever the weather.
You can view the Hi Gear Children's Stowaway Jacket on Go Outdoors and there are various colours and sizes available.

*we received all the products above free of charge for the purpose of this post. All thoughts, opinions and photos are our own*
