Our New Year Bucket List

I hadn't thought about writing a bucket list before as I thought a bucket list was things you wanted to do before you die. However, I have noticed that some people have seasonal bucket lists on their blogs. They write down all of the things they want to do in the following three months. We have had a little think and there are a few things we want to do so I've decided to write them down.

Our New Year Bucket List 2016

1. Potty Train Little J - I would love for him to be out of nappies during the day before spring.  Completed

2. Date Night  -  I want to plan proper date nights with Daddy. When we don't plan a day or night out together we usually just get lazy an not bother, I need to make sure we have at least one 'date night' a month.  Completed

3. Go To Delamere Forest - We have visited Delamere Forest many times but I would love to go again so little J can really appreciate it. He loves being outdoors and exploring and from what I can remember he will love it.

4. Visit A New Place - I would love to visit a new city or place once a month if I could. As a family we love travelling so this is something I really want to work on.

5. More Time With Big J - Little J is the perfect toddler (hopefully he stays that way), but like all little ones they do take up a lot of your time and attention. I want to make sure that Daddy and I get quality time with big J to. Even if it's just watching a movie together, going bowling or the cinema I think it's important to reassure him that we are here for him too, even though he may not need us as much as he used to.

6. Lose The Christmas Weight - This one is just for me. I managed to put 5lbs on over Christmas and it was 5lbs more than I could afford to really. I am overweight anyway so I am a little disappointed in myself, so I am hoping to lose the 5lbs and more over the next 3 months. A stone would be amazing but we will see.  Completed

7. Build a Snowman - I know I can't be certain that we will enjoy some snow over the next few months but I have everything crossed that some snow will fall. Little J hasn't seen proper snow yet and he is almost 3.  Completed

8. Plan a 40th - I want to make a start on planning Daddy's 40th birthday. I know he doesn't want a party so I will try and make it as special as I can

9. Watch The Hobbit Trilogy - I bought this for Daddy for Christmas and I would love to watch it all before spring.

10. Take The Boys Swimming - This is usually a 'Daddy' activity but I want to start taking them swimming more than we did last year. They both love the water plus it may help me shift a few lbs too.

11. Celebrate Little J's 3rd Birthday - Really looking forward to him turning 3.  Completed

12. Think Of Fundraising Ideas - It's Isabella's 6th angelversary this year and I am sad that I didn't do as much fundraising for SANDS last year as I had hoped. This year will be different. Completed

These are in no particular order I have just wrote them down this way. Hope I get to cross a few of these off before Spring.

  4. What a great list, I hope you manage to accomplish it all. I like the 'visit somewhere new' part as it's something I would like to do also, being a person that has stayed in the same city for most of her life x

  5. Some really great goals. I agree about date night, it seems to be the thing that gets last priority. I want to try to make it a more frequent thing we do as well!

  7. Great bucket list, we normally do seasonal ones and had our advent activities but haven't set any for this side of Christmas yet... I find it hard to get motivated when the weather is bad. Hope the swimming and weight loss goes well x

  10. Good luck with potty training - Google the potty song on YouTube it might not help with the potty training but it will make you laugh. I love how swimming is generally a daddy activity! Good luck with losing weight and fundraising for SANDS x
