My Sunday Photo - An Unexpected Bill To Pay

Like most we watch the pennies in January as we are usually all spent up after Christmas. Yesterday we were on our way to the woods for a nice winter walk when the check engine light appeared on my car. I was on the motorway so I panicked as every light on my dashboard lit up. I managed to get the car to our local garage who advised me to leave it there so they could take a little look.

The little look at my car turned out to be very expensive. My water pump was leaking so had to be replaced. The coolant in my car was completely empty even though I had just topped it up. The engine had over heated so thats why all the warning signs had popped up.

So much for watching what we spend this month. I hate it when unexpected bills pop up, especially in January.

  6. At least you are save. Cars become expensive now a day, a bit of luxury really. Unfortunately a necessity.

  7. Well, at least you didn't have to be rescued on the motorway which would have been very expensive!

  9. Cars can at times be expensive for repairs, maintenance etc. I know that I have been advised not to keep a car for too long, as once repairs are needed, unfortunately you can have a spell of a few things over a period of time. Hope you have Happy motoring for some time without much / any hefty bills.

I think it would be good for us all to be able to attend car maintenance classes etc. Maybe gaining certificate as well as knowledge and skills. Could this maybe even be a topic considered for secondary school. As it could be preparation for adulthood, practical living.
