Holiday Extra's - Holiday Inn Express, Manchester Airport Review

For our recent trip to Paris we were offered the chance to stay over at Holiday Inn Express - Manchester Airport before our early morning flight, thanks to Holiday Extras.

Holiday Extras do exactly what their name says. They provide that little bit 'extra' to make your trips and stays hassle free. Covering hotels at 26 UK airports and over 100,000 parking spaces at 27 airports they make bookings for over 7 million travellers every year. If you also want to start your holiday in style they can provide bookings for lounges at 21 UK airports.

We were lucky enough to receive a complimentary stay and we were very impressed with both the hotel and service received.

Holiday Extras makes bookings for over 7 million travellers each year.

When we arrived I instantly recognised the building as it used to be another hotel brand and we have stayed there many times. It's had a huge refurbishment and looks so much better than before.

Upon check in we were told that there was a hot breakfast option from 6:30am although a lighter option was available from 4am.

Our room was on ground level just to the left of check in reception and bar.

The family room had a double bed plus a sofa bed that big and little J shared.

The bathroom had a huge walk in shower but there was no bath. The shower suited us fine. I had forgot my hairdryer so was pleased one was provided in the room.

There was adequate tea making facilities and a modern style TV.

There was a slight chill in the air but there was a radiator in the room which warmed it up.

Free wifi was provided upon check in and worked on all three devices we had with us.  This made big J very happy because he can't survive without his internet connection.

Daddy and the boys went to the bar to grab some drinks while I had a shower. Daddy got a pint of lager, a medium orange and lemonade and a fruit shoot. He didn't get much change from £10.

I had a cup of tea using the facilities in the room and then headed to bed.

One thing you worry about when staying over at an airport is the noise from over head. We didn't hear a thing, the room was well insulated.

We all fell asleep quite quickly and where woken by our 5:30am alarm.

We got washed and dressed and headed to the breakfast room for a quick drink and bite to eat.

By the time we got there the hot breakfast was available. There was a large selection of hot and cold. I opted for a warm pain au chocolate and a apricot and mango yoghurt. Little J chose the same. Daddy had a croissant and big J chose a hot breakfast.

This yoghurt was so delicious

Early morning start

We had booked a bus transfer upon check in to take us the airport. We ordered for 7am and he came exactly on time. He took us to the terminal which only took approximately 10 minutes and we paid him when we got there. It is £3 per person although he did not charge us for little J.

What We Loved

Ground floor room is so much easier when you have two children, two suitcases, a pram and hand luggage.

Perfectly situated for the airport.

Bus transfer was reliable and reasonably priced.

Large selection at breakfast.

No airport noise heard in our room.

Family room was large enough for us all.

What Could Improve

Nothing - it was just what we needed for an overnight stay before our flight.

*****

We were really impressed by Holiday Extras and would definitely use their services again. The hotel was perfect and would highly recommend.

You can visit Holiday Extras online to check out their large range of extras available for your next trip.
