Up Early, Washed, Dressed And Ready To Head Out

Well it was a bright and sunny weekend last week so we were up early, washed, dressed and ready to head out for a nice stroll in the park. Croxteth Hall and Country Park is so beautiful and a fun day out.

Croxteth Hall was home to the Earl of Sefton. The house is open to visitors and it is great to see where and how the Earl lived with his family and servants. We have been inside many times and it is truly beautiful. It is also open around Christmas time where there is a Christmas fair and market inside.

First we went to the little play area. This is designed for little ones. Little J really enjoyed the swing and being pushed by his big brother. There is a larger play area for older kids but it was really busy so big J didn't want to go in.

Next up was the see-saw. Little J is such a dare devil and really excited when the see-saw went up in the air. I think big J enjoyed it too :)

There is a tunnel to crawl through so big J and little J waited for it to be clear and they crawled through to get to the slide on the other side.

Daddy's legs almost reached the bottom and he forgot there was a bar at the top and banged his head.

Little J is a little too young for a donkey ride and I don't think its cool for an eleven year old to be sat on a donkey in public so big J gave it a miss.

They were very cute though and it was nice seeing the little ones enjoying a ride around the park.

As always a ball came with us. There is always time for some football.

This is the back of the house. This is were the kitchens and servants quarters are.

More football.

Big J found a den in a bush and a tree to climb.

Little J starting to look tired.

Quick visit to the horses

before little J fell asleep.

More football.

More climbing

Big J had a blue lolly-ice and it turned his whole mouth and tongue blue.

I really do love it when its bright and sunny outside. I don't mind the cold because you can wrap up warm but I really don't like the rain. I hate being wet. I'm hoping the rain is behind us now and we can look forward to brighter days and lighter nights.

  2. Looks like you all had a great day out. I think it can be the case sometimes that places that interest smaller children can bore older kids and vice versa so it's nice that both of yours enjoyed themselves. It looks like there's lots to do there and the idea of a Christmas fair and market there sounds lovely
