Our Sunday Photo - 03/09/2017

September for us means the beginning of a school year. This year is a little special as I have one child  who is going in to his final year in seniors and another child just beginning his school journey in reception.

I don't often think about the age gap between big and little J because they get on so well and do so much together but when we were buying school shoes it hit me. Big J can no longer fit in to the kids range at Clark's and went shopping in the men's section. Where does the time go?

Review - Jake Shoes Back To School Range

So it's that time during the Summer holidays that I start to think about buying big J's uniform. It is usually quite simple as we buy most of it from the school shop, however we do usually have some trouble finding shoes for him as he is very fussy and a typical teenager. As little J will be starting school in September I decided to be super organised and start buying his uniform early as I didn't know what to expect especially if he took after his brother when shoe shopping. Jake Shoes got in touch recently and offered us the chance to try out a pair of shoes from their back to school range. This was perfect as I really dislike shopping for school shoes as it's always manic, doing it online meant I could browse from the comfort of my own sofa.

Review - My Summer Wear From Jacamo

You may have read recently that Michelle was invited to choose and review some new clothes from J.D. Williams. I was lucky enough to also be invited to try some clothes from Jacamo. My clothes tend to be a bit scruffy. I wear typical ‘Dad’ clothes most of the time when I’m not in work. Tracksuits, Everton Shirts, Shorts and Film and TV orientated T-Shirts.  I noticed recently that Big J’s wardrobe is actually a lot smarter than mine, and decided it was time I got myself some smarter clothes to wear.

Review - My Summer Wear From JD Williams

A few weeks ago I was asked if I would like to review some clothes from JD Williams. You wouldn't believe how excited I was because usually it's the kids who get to try out lots of different stuff but mainly because I can't remember the last time I bought myself new clothes. I do have all the intentions of buying clothes for myself but usually walk out with a trolley or basket filled with clothes for the boys. The joys of being a Mum. Anyway I made myself a cup of tea and went browsing on their website. There was a lot of choice but I managed to narrow it down to just 3 things, which did take me quite a while.

Miraclesuit Costume Giveaway

So far this year I have created two bucket lists and on those two bucket lists I have said I am going to lose weight. I need to lose weight and now that it's almost May I am starting to panic as Summer is literally just around the corner. We are still hoping to go away this year and all the talking about Summer has really put me in the mood to book a nice beach holiday.

Trespass Sanford Mens Waterproof Jacket Review

We were recently offered the chance to review an item from Trespass. I knew instantly Daddy would enjoy browsing the website for something so I handed this over to him. After a lot of searching and asking me what I thought he finally decided on an item. I will hand you over to Daddy for his thoughts on the Sanford Mens Waterproof Jacket.

Summer Sleepwear for Little J

As its summer we decided to change little J's sleepwear. He usually wears long sleeved Pj's but some nights it has been so hot that we thought short sleeved would be best.

Lamaloli sent little J a pair of Bob the Builder short sleeved PJ's to try out.

The tag says 3 years but they are more like a 2-3 years. Little J is only 17 months but he fits perfectly into this size. I always get a little bigger, especially when buying online.

The PJ's are 100% cotton and are really soft to touch. The collar is round and has a large Bob the Builder on the front.

As well as being lovely PJ's they also make lovely daywear just for little J to play around in. They look just like shorts and a tshirt.

Little J moves around lots in the night but his shorts stayed on - sometimes we find he manages to wriggle out of his pants.

The shorts have an elasticated waistband so perfect to hold little J's nappy in place too.

I have since washed the PJ's and I always think its important to let my readers know what the items look like after a wash. The PJs are fine. Great quality and looked liked new. They were washed as instructed at 40 degrees

The sizes on the website are in ages and are 2, 3, 4 and 5 years

There is a clickable measurement guide on the site to help you with the sizes.

These PJ's are currently £3.95 and are available online by clicking here

Delivery time to the UK is up to 5 days and costs £4.95

*we received the PJs to review - all thoughts above are our own*

Cheeky Chompers

My mum and dad were watching a repeat of Dragons Den a few months ago and told me about an idea they had seen. A bib with a teether attached. What a simple for great idea. Little J is now cutting his molars so we are once again full of drool but he is also wanting to bite anything he can get his hands on. With 8 teeth already I don't fancy putting my fingers, hands or anything for that matter near him. Cheeky Chompers, the company seen on Dragons Den kindly sent us a neckerchew for little J to try.

Snug As A Bug in Bambino Merino Sleeping Bag

Little J has slept in a sleeping bag since he moved from his Moses basket into his cot. I had never heard of them before until a friend recommended we get one. It's such an amazing idea and there is no need for any blankets or duvets so that took away the worry of little J wriggling under his duvet.   I was sent a Bambino Merino Baby Sleeping Bag for little J to try. When it arrived it was neatly packaged in it's own matching travel bag which is great if you go on holiday or even just to grandparents house.

Daisy Roots

You may have already read that little J was born with a deformed big toe (which you can read about here) and is at the moment recovering at home from his operation to correct this. We are so pleased that once he is better he will be able to own his first pair of shoes and wear his cosy fleece Daisy Roots Slippers.

Daisy Roots kindly sent us a pair of Blue Fleece slippers with pale blue spots for little J to try.
