Our Favourites | Bedtime Stories - Autumn 2018

Ever since I can remember little J has had a story before bed. It's part of his bedtime routine and no matter how tired he is or how late he's gone to bed he has to choose a book for us to read.At the moment he does have quite a few favourites so I thought I would share with you what we have been reading as it is Libraries Week.

Mr Men

Little J received the whole collection for Christmas last year and he has read every book at least twice so far this year. He absolutely loves them. I have read a few to him but he likes Dad to read these. I'm actually glad about that as I don't understand most of them and the language is outdated, however little J loves them.

Little Miss

As he loves the Mr Men collection so much he had decided to put the Little Miss books on his Christmas List this year but we managed to pick them all up in a local car boot sale for pennies and they are brand new. He was so happy and we are just making our way through them all now.

Monkey Puzzle

This is probably my favourite story to read, I love it. It's a story about a Monkey who has lost his mum and seeks the help of a butterfly to try and find her. I have probably read this hundreds of times over the years but it never grows old. Monkey Puzzle is written by the very talented Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler.

Dear Zoo

This is one of those books that is very quick but still nice. I normally whip this one out if I am short on time or it's past his bedtime. Dear Zoo tells the story of someone who writes to the zoo to send them a pet. The zoo sends them lots of animals however they are just not a suitable pet. The book has flaps which can be lifted to guess which animal is underneath. Probably a bit young now for little J but he still enjoys it.

Wibble Wobble

We have been reading this book for a while about a little boy who is desperate for a wobbly tooth. All his friends have lost teeth so he feels a bit left out. I know little J is also desperate to lose a tooth as some of his friends have already. I keep telling him it will happen, we just don't know when. I guess we will be reading this story until it does.

Does your little ones have any favourite stories?

Michelle
